WHAT TO EXPECT

(Schedule is flexible) Our tour guide will pick you up then we will start our Hanoi Old Quarter Walking Tour. The first destination of the tour will stop by Hoan Kiem Lake, considered the heart of Hanoi. You can observe many locals interesting activities such as playing badminton, doing exercises.
2.
Then, we head to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Complex. A traffic-free area of botanical gardens, monuments, memorials and pagodas. Within the complex are Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House and the Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh Museum and the One Pillar Pagoda.

Temple of Literature & National University is originally built as a university in 1070 dedicated to Confucius, scholars and sages, the building is extremely well preserved and is a superb example of traditional-style Vietnamese architecture. Visiting the Temple of Literature you will discover historic buildings from the Ly and Tran dynasties in a revered place that has seen thousands of doctors’ graduate in what has now become a memorial to education and literature.

Hoa Lo Prison ironically nicknamed the ‘Hanoi Hilton’ by US prisoners of war (POWs) during the American War. Most exhibits relate to the prison’s use up to the mid-1950s, focusing on the Vietnamese struggle for independence from France.

The museum is now housing over 200,000 objects and materials which are relics of Vietnamese history flowing from pre-history to the present. Among these, many are Vietnamese antiquities and 18 are recognized as Vietnam’s national treasures.
6.
Tire sandals were iconic for Ho Chi Minh President during the war. Not only will you have a chance to experience making tire sandals for yourself, but you will also be surprised about the meaning and story behind at Tire Sandal King (Optional) Note: Guides are free but the experience fees are NOT included.

Mai took as around Hanoi for our guided tour. She was on time and very friendly. Our tour took us to Note café, Hoan Kiam Lake,Temple of Literature, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum & the war prison museum. The students were very helpful and friendly. Feels safe to have a local familiar to initially tour you when you visit a place first time. They were very polite and they ask us where we want to visit first. Since this is a very affordable tour, we gave them a good tip also. Feels good to help them also as they also try to practice their english communication and increase their self confidence. Win - Win. :)

Our tour guides (Hai and Quinn) were great !!
They were knowledgeable about the sites that they brought us to and explained the history of the sites in details. They also accommodated our request to see the train street first as that was on our wish list. The walks can be a little far so put on good walking shoes :)

Oanh was an amazing tour guide! I let her know that I'd already been to the Prison Museum and Train Street so she tailored the tour to suit this. We went to Dong Xuan market, the Heritage House, and then the lake and the temple. I learnt a lot about Vietnamese culture, and also told Oanh about my own culture. Though you can visit these places without a guide, I think her knowledge added so much depth to my experience. I would definitely recommend.

We booked a free walking tour with our home stay and were greeted with Gracie. She was punctual, kind and polite. She was really easy to get along with and full of knowledge. It was a fun and a great experience for me. Sahra was good, and she is a good tour guide. The memorable experience was trying the egg coffee, and crossing into the traffic streets, this is one I should known better because is common in my country too "just raise your hand while crossing the street, and the vehicle will stop".
