Concord’s trip was far superior to a competitor’s options. Easy (no rushing to an office for a paper ticket). Joyce was the perfect guide. Enough information but no endless babble.

The guide was so nice.
Thanks Joyce!!!
Although the schedule was so tight, we had a good enough time to enjoy Quebec in a day, no headache to drive and to park.

We had a lovely time touring the falls and the city. Our tour guides for the bus, cruise and walk around the city were excellent.

This tour was clearly a tourist trap.

1. The ride from Montreal to Quebec City is 31/2 hours. Not a bad ride. Guide on the bus William was awesome and very knowledgeable. He did a good job of keeping us entertained and pointing out landmarks when we were awake.

2. We get to Quebec City and are handed over to a local guide, Anabel. Anabel takes pride in the fact that Quebec is the first city built by “white people, not Mexican”- her words exactly. No problem with a statement of fact, however, she mentioned it multiple times and each time she did she pointed at herself to indicate “white” and finishing off with “not Mexican”. I am not sure what the significance was however the number of times she made that reference made me uncomfortable🤷🏾‍♀️

3. Annabel’s tour was a little over an hour. It consisted of us walking up the hill and her pointing out spots where certain landmarks used to be, but were no longer there so she implored us to use our imaginations.

4. Lots of places to eat, not a lot of food options. I chose one of the lease crowded places I could find and my options were burger, poutine or grilled cheese sandwich. I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich- it was made with hamburger bun. My friend had the burger- it was literally burger, bun cheese. Apparently, she needed to specify the need for lettuce tomatoes, etc, but I digress.

5. The cruise was an hour. Yes the view from the ship was beautiful. The ship could not get close to the waterfall, so we basically killed time on the water and went back to shore. We then got back on the bus and took a 20 minute drive to the actual waterfall. Honestly, after Niagara Falls I was not impressed but I do love a good waterfall.

6. The. It was back on the bus for 3/1/2 hour ride back to Montreal.

Pros: William was great and so was the bus driver
Quebec City is indeed one of the most beautiful cities I have visited.

Con: Anabel

My Recommendation:

If you’re driving, and you don’t mind a little road trip, drive up and see the sights on your own.

This trip would have been vastly improved by some knowledgeable guides.
Comfortable coach trip but no information at all about Quebec . A 30 minute tour in Quebec was superficial and too big a group to handle. Everything we learned from our trip was from a guidebook.
Cruise was excellent with great information throughout.
To be honest better to make your own way with a guidebook.

It’s a long drive with one stop on the way. They stopped at McDonald’s and a convenience store.
The stop at the falls is about an hour.
If you want to get to the splash zone faster , taking the tram might be the better choice.
There’s lots of stairs down.
The drive to Quebec City, is short from there. The guided tour gave some good info . It was about 30 mins long. I had about 3 hours to roam around. Take the tram up if you don’t want or can’t climb a 100ft up stairs or street.
I did the cruise but honestly, I would skip that to have time to go to La Citadelle. It’s an 1.5 hour ferry ride to the bridge and back and you see the waterfall from a distance. I’m a fan of history and that sounded more exciting than what the cruise was. They do serve drinks on board so that was a plus, where sunscreen!

Annabelle’s history of Old Quebec, Montmorency Falls, chatting with Young. We would suggest dropping the boat tour and give people more time in Old Quebec.

Really worth the long ride from Montreal and probably the highlight of my trip. The city is beautiful and I appreciated having a lot of free time. The cruise was excellent, and relaxing. Nice big boat with table service and friendly staff. Our guide Felix was great and I was super impressed that we were picked up and dropped off at our individual hotels. I've done a lot of these kind of tours and that has never happened. My only complaint is that the bus Air Conditioning didn't seem to be working on the way back and it was miserably hot.
