Alejandro gave a great tour. He was very talkative and informational. He brought up lesser known facts of the shrine and the surrounding area. I found his knowledge of the artwork in the museum very enlightening. So if you are the type of person who wants to listen to a lot of good info then this tour is for you.

I'm very glad that I did this tour as Alejandro was fantastic. Excellent knowledge which he was able to share easily and moved at a good pace. I wouldn't have had the same appreciation and understanding without Alejandro. I thoroughly recommend this tour as it will make the experience so much more rewarding.

Alejandro was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He was able to tell us so much about the history of the area, the cultural changes, politics as well as the apparitions. You can tell he has a great love of the art too. We especially appreciated how considerate he was of our needs during the tour to take breaks, to eat, change topics or take another tour of the Tilma! I highly recommend the tour - it’s a great way to learn how Our Lady of Guadeloupe has affected all of Mexico.

We were on a pilgrimage and were enamored with the history and authenticity of Our Lady of Guadalupe. I think our tour could have benefited from better time planning but that does not diminish the impact that this presents.

Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe - the Lady of Guadalupe (the Virgin Mary) is revered throughout Mexico - she is everywhere!! It is said that every year some twenty million pilgrims visit the Basilica - to pray and to seek religious intervention for illness and ailments. The Basilica is the premier site for her reverence. GPS 19.48468, -99.116939. About 9 km North from Centro Mexico City (15 mins by car). The Basilica (a Basilica is a name given to certain churches granted special privileges by the Pope) and its environs are huge - you could spend 2 to 3 hours there easily - but a lot of walking is needed - some up steep outside stairways. The main (new) Basilica building is BIG and circular - the size of a very large flying saucer! The surrounds incorporate at least 7 Churches - apparently they were each added over some 300 years to accommodate increasing pilgrim crowds! One of the Churches is atop a hill - this is the one that has a steep stairway. Of interest is the shops outside in the streets around the Basilica - they sell food but predominantly they sell religious paraphernalia and religious souvenirs in quantities which are hard to comprehend! Hint: a couple of these have public toilets within.

We had an amazing tour with Efrain as our tour guide. He was phenomenal! His stories and knowledge about the Basilica and it’s history made our tour that much better. Would highly recommend.

Thanks to Efrain for his time and amazing insights on the history of the Basilica & Our Lady! As a religious pilgrim...this was a wonderful experience that would appeal to anyone....ranging from the pious to the curious. I highly recommend this tour.

Wow! What an experience. If you are planning to visit the Basilica, I highly recommend this guided tour. Alejandro is very knowledgeable about the site and it's rich history. He really knows what he's talking about, and shares information in a way that is pleasant and clear in both Spanish and English. There's plenty to see at the Basilica, but there is also much to learn. With the right guide, you can discover everything there is to know about this historical site. Alejandro is that guide. He showed us everything we needed to see and told us everything we needed to know, at a pace that was very comfortable. My mother and I had a fantastic time. If you book this tour, I'm sure you will too.

Alejando the tour guide was EXCELLENT!! Super knowledgeable in all aspect of the vast area incorporated with the tour of The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. He answered all the questions I had and informed me on the history of the surrounding areas surrounding the Basilica. I highly recommend this tour, especially iAlejando as your tour guide.
