We had booked a day dromedary ride with an overnight stay in a Berber tent and were able to ride on the Mogador and Atlantic with Mustafa as our guide. On our way to the eucalyptus forest, Mustafa pointed out many native plants. We took a relaxing break in the shade of the trees. Mustafa had prepared two delicious salads and grilled fresh chicken skewers for us over an open fire. There were even bananas and apples for dessert. The way back along the Atlantic offered us a beautiful view but we were pretty exhausted when we reached the ranch again (a total of around three hours of dromedary ride was more strenuous than we thought). From the ranch we drove with other travelers to the Berber tents (each travel group had its own tent) with a view of the Atlantic 🤩
In the evening, since we had already had chicken for lunch, we had a really delicious tagine with beef and vegetables (the other groups each had a tagine with chicken and vegetables, they really thought about it here) and we were also served the typical delicious mint tea, orange juice and fruit. The atmosphere in the tent was only topped by the campfire with a full moon and (drum) music. The toilet tent was a little adventurous. We slept very well in the tent at night, our worries that it would be cold at night were completely unfounded! In the morning there was a delicious breakfast with a large selection. Mustafa and his colleagues were very friendly, accommodating and reserved. If we come to Essaouira again, we would book the overnight stay in the Berber tent again (and a short dromedary tour ;) ).
:) thank you very much for this great experience :)

Excellent experience!
We highly recommend this ranch, clean, pleasant, with attentive, helpful and experienced staff.
The walk was memorable, the guide Mustapha remarkable, very gentle with the animals, excellent photographer and funny!
Services far above other ranches in Diabat.
We found the night in the tent very pleasant, the bed surprisingly comfortable (Moroccans are very good at bedding!), the evening meal and breakfast excellent.
This is THE ranch to choose in our opinion.

It was an unforgettable experience. Mustafa, our attentive and experienced guide, wanted to entertain us with his extensive knowledge of flora and fauna. The welcome was warm, we met one of the owners, who was very friendly. The trips were well organized and efficient. The little touch of Westfalia was great 👌
An activity to do again!!

Very enjoyable trip. Our camels were very well treated and gentle. The dinner was excellent - the best tagine I have ever tasted. The environment, both the ranch and the camp, were nicely presented. Definitely worth the cost. I accidentally left my keys and they were returned to me very promptly. A lovely group of people.

This was our first trip to Morocco and Essouria was the perfect location
While there we did the 3 hour dromedary and overnight stay. I cannot say enough kind words about our experience. Everyone was gracious and the ranch itself was beautiful. The dromedary ride was peaceful and Mustapha was extremely knowledgeable and eager to share and answer questions. The overnight experience was superb. Just an amazing experience and I highly recommend!

This was a great expedition. We were collected from the main square in Essaouira and then driven to Ranch de Diabat about 10 minutes away. We left most of our belongings at the ranch, were each given a dromedary and set off with just our small back packs. Each dromedary is tied to the next so forming the caravan. We were led by our dromedary trainer and rider Mustafa. He was excellent and took loads of photos and videos of us on the camels as the sun went down. He was really informed on the landscape and was a great guide. The dromedaries are very well behaved and well trained. They are amazing animals to watch and interact with. One of our group got a sore back while riding so jumped off and walked the rest of the way which is definitely doable. The beach ride seemed quite long and was very windy and cold (it was December- definitely recommend dressing as warm as possible!) We arrived at the camp and were given a delicious meal, Moroccan vegetable soup, followed by meat
and veg Tagine and then fruit. We brought some chocolate and alcohol to have afterwards. They provided water. The chef was great and very kind and sweet! The tent is quite basic with mattresses on the floor and sleeping bags with extra blankets. The camp is set up in an old eucalyptus forest which was beautiful. There is no toilet or sink but we had enough toilet paper and water so this was fine for one night. The next morning we awoke at 8am to a breakfast of boiled eggs, breads and jams. We then rode the short distance back to the ranch through an old fort ruin (where part of Game of Thrones was filmed). It was loads of fun and was the perfect end to our Moroccan adventure. This is a super fun thing for a group of friends or kids.
