The ability to explore ancient archaeological sites and hike through local countryside so close to Cusco is what makes this activity so charming. Because it's mostly downhill, this is a great practice hike for people who plan to hike longer more strenuous trails in the Sacred Valley.

Heather in Virginia and Vidal and his colleagues in Peru were terrific in making the most of this trip. I knew the rough outline of what I wanted, and typically plan trips myself, but couldn’t quite stick the landing on this one. Heather and I had an initial 2 hour chat where she learned what was important to us. After some tweaking over the course of a week, we had the perfect itinerary. She had tips for the DIY portion that I wanted to do, as she was aware of our efforts to keep to a budget. She offered all kinds of tips for getting around Peru safely - insect repellent, altitude issues, etc etc. And then Vidal! A wonderful addition to the trip, he was warm and professional, engaging with our teenage boys - we couldn’t have had a better experience. Adios Travel took our trip from good to great. Forever grateful

We lucked out finding Adios Adventure Travel while booking a home exchange in Cusco. I can't imagine what we would have done without them! Vidal was our primary contact. He set up every detail for us to travel from Cusco to Ollantaytumbo with stops in Chinchera and Moray on the way. He set up tickets for buses and trains and tours from Ollantaytumbo to AguasCalientes to Manchu Picchu. Angela did our tour in Manchu Picchu and she was just as lovely and knowledgeable as Vidal. My children MISSED Vidal when we were in Manchu Picchu and kept asking when we'd see him again. He met us at the home exchange, cooked us breakfast, and took us to all the sites around Cusco. Angela and Vidal and Carlitos, our van driver, were ALWAYS kind, prompt, and knowledgeable. I about cried when we had to say goodbye. I will cherish our time and memories with him and hope that he comes to visit us in the US!

With my adult daughters, went on Adios Adventures classic 4 day Inca Trail hike starting Sept 22, 2022. It was our first time in Peru. Adios Adventures professionally organized everything. Hike was led by our guide Manuel who took care of us and explained everything along the way. Hike is strenuous but amazing. Manchu Pichu is spectacular. We loved it.

Would absolutely go on another trip with Adios Adventures.

Traveled to Peru for 15 days in late May, 2022. Covered Lima, Paracas, Huacachina, Arequipa, Colca Canyon, Puno, and Cusco (Sacred Valley, Inca Trail, Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mtn). What an amazing trip to Peru and Adios Adventure Travel was an incredible tour guide company to work with. Jacquie was great at working on a customized itinerary for my wife and I and very flexible with options on lodging, logistics, etc. Very responsive to all my questions. Provided excellent recommendations and expertise on the overall itinerary. The logistics for this trip were absolutely perfect. The in-country tour guides were all great. Vidal, however, stands out among them as his passion for his business and Peru was evident and we feel blessed to have been with Vidal for 5 days while in the Cusco area. His knowledge, expertise, and experience made our trip extra special and probably our best trip ever and we've traveled a lot. Can't say enough about Adios Adventure Travel and highly recommend them for your next trip to Peru and/or South America.

Adios Adventures made our first post-COVID trip of 8 days to the Cusco area a huge success. Vidal and his family strive to give you the best impression of Peru and enhance your understanding of the culture and history with his vast knowledge and experience. They partner with the family hotel/hostel Blue House and provide a variety of experiences. This is the first family trip where I haven't had to plan logistics. A day trip to Machu Picchu is a marathon 14-hour day navigating the bus and train transfers and still have 3 hours to enjoy the plateau. Vidal did all the thinking for me leaving me the freedom to enjoy it with my family. My favorite excursion was an overnight hike to Waqqrapukara. Traveling with a 9yo with short little legs and 12yo who discovered she had exercise induced asthma at high altitudes was a challenge, but one that we were able to tackle together because Vidal took care of the tents, food and and an extra horse for the little one. Mario, the consummate professional chef who packed a white chef's jacket which he changed into prior to cooking, made two amazing soups which were the 12yo's favorite meal during our whole trip. Vidal was flexible and accommodating reading our energy level and mood well occasionally carrying the little one so we could keep going. He pivots easily, such as when we arrived in Chinchero to find all the weavers shut down for the day because of the national elections. Using his vast network of connections (he met someone he knew on the street in every town we went to) he phoned a friend who put together a demonstration with only 45 minutes lead time. Also, shout out to Yorkee who is an amazing driver navigating one lane dirt roads on the side of steep mountains effortlessly. Please engage him in a game of "slug bug" as there are plenty of VW Bugs to be seen during road trips.

Adios Adventure planned my Peru travel and hiking experience. My husband and I 60 and 70 enjoy hiking but not wanting to do the Inka trail experience. Heather planned a wonderful trip and we had a fantastic time. I am so happy that we were able to enjoy this before Covid hit!!

Vidal was our guide, and Yorkee our driver. Vidal was great, and has extensive knowledge of Peru past and present. He helped us through our 9 day adventure. By the end of our vacation it was like being with a member of your family!

Yorkee was a great driver also getting us through these incredible tiny streets of Cusco!!

We had a great trip and would not hesitate having Adios Adventure plan another trip for us in the future.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Adios Adventure Travel. My friend and I recently returned from the 9-day Classic Inca Trail and Cusco adventure tour, and really experienced a special treat. From the first emails with Jacquie and Heather, to meeting our guides, Vidal and Yartiza on the ground in Peru, it was clear how much thought and care they put into their experiences. Every detail of the trip is expertly crafted to provide a sense of history and context to the amazing landscape surrounding us. Unlike some of the other tour groups we encountered, our guides are fully committed to protecting and preserving the environment and the sacred sites all around us. The Adios team really goes above and beyond and I cannot wait to work with them again to plan my next adventure!

My husband and I went to Peru for our honeymoon and used Adios Adventures to plan the whole trip. Jacquie Whitt and Vidal made the planning aspect of the trip so smooth and fulfilled all of our wishes. Our adventure consisted of the Amazon (seeing many animals and rustic jungle sites), Sacred Valley (Inca and older ruins), Machu Picchu (including Huayna Picchu with the best hike of the trip), Cusco (seeing beautiful churches and eating delicious food), and Lima. Throughout the entire trip, it was organized to have transportation and guides at every destination. The guides spoke English very well (which was helpful due to us not speaking Spanish!) and were genuinely interested and excited for our tours. We absolutely loved our trip and would recommend Adios to everyone who is looking for an adventure that is "off the beaten path!" I also wanted to give a special thank you to our guides Louis in the Amazon and Ismael Human Zapata at Machu Picchu, our driver Durkie, and our lodge host Erik Morales at the Chochapata lodge. Thanks again for an amazing experience!
