This was such once in a life time trip. Recommend walking boot as the steep clime makes your body work hard and if hot take lots of water. Take fruit as snack health alternative to crops. Go toilet before start as toilet facilities very very basic it’s about 30 min walk to top.

We had a great time and lots of fun at this trip. Our driver Paolo was funny, nice and absolutely great guy - he knows how to make people feel relaxed and enjoy their time. Also our guide Diana took really good care of us. We were well informed about schedules and program all the time. It was fun to talk with our international group.
Still: this tour was a bit/quite a lot different than descriped at the web site.
First: it took more than 7 hours instead of approx. 4.
Secondly: I did not know that a lunch was included. Some of our group had a possibility to choose a vegan food. We did not.
Thirdly: We visited shortly Pompeiji's shops and a wine yard. Did not know that.
And last but not least: On Viator's website was told that "Listen to a volcanologist to learn about Mt. Vesuvius and Pompeii" and "Volcanologist guide at the summit of Vesuvius" is included. We made the Vesuvius walk all alone. Of course Diana told us a little something while we were on our way up but there was nothing we did not knew before.
But: Vesivius was nice, the athmosphere was great, food on the wineyard was delicious and Paolo & Diana best! We really enjoyed ourselves. <3

I had a good time. The time of the event was adjusted, booked for midday but confirmation said 10.30. I didn't have any other plans so it was fine for me. Collected from collection point as agreed and brought back there too. Had a nice surprise wine tasting in venyard/restaurant on the way (I didn't realise it was a part of Vesuvius visit). The guide and the driver were really nice 🙂

It was an excellent experience! Our bus driver was professional and the bus guide Giovani was very friendly and impressive with all his languages …also very knowledgeable about the area. Our guide at Pompeii was extremely knowledgeable

Amazing tour of Mt. Vesuvius. The tour covers the van ride from Naples and they give loads of useful information about the Volcano as well as Pompeii located at the bottom of the mountain.

View from the top was awesome, luckily we had a mostly clear day and temp was about 70degrees f , t shirt weather for a semi vigorous hike, it is steep and steady most of the way and levels out a little around the rim . Views of the sea , Naples, Pompeii and beyond. There’s a snack bar at the gate , a small gift shop midway with cold bottled water and another at the top. We also had the wine tasting at a vineyard and restaurant very nice and good views from there as well.

We waited for the driver to pick us up at the designated location, but never came, even after I received a confirmation email 2 days before for the exact location. I've emailed with the local supplier and two different people at Viator asking for a refund because they were poor in commmunications and customer service skills. I would like to escalate to a higher level. Please let me know of the name and contact info of who I can escalate this matter to. By the way, this is the first booking I've made with Viator and I'm a seasoned traveler. So, I'm not impressed.
