This tour combines the travel on an ancient and unique public service railway, the visit of a volcanic winery (wine and food tasting, visit to the vineyards and cellars).
The railway public service starts either in Catania or in Riposto and always terminates in Randazzo (duration is about 2 hours). The railway is peerless, connecting the small towns surrounding Mt. Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. The view is just incomparable and scenic. In Randazzo, our guests will be driven to the close winery, for a full tour of the vineyards, cellars and a wine and food tasting (pairing of wines and Sicilian food). At the end of the tour, the private car service will drop you off at the starting point.

We had the lovely Barbara take us and one other couple on this tour and we had a wonderful time. It was lovely to visit the wineries and try ETNA wine. It was also lovely to meet and chat with a lovely Sicilian with lots of knowledge and entertaining conversation. The stroll through Randazzo was a lovely addition as was the gelato. The communication with this vendor is lacking. We booked through Viator. Viator was also less than helpful. The app allows you to send a message to both the operator and Viator, yet there was no response for 2 months regarding the tour. The miscommunication was even worse. The operator did not answer their phone when called by myself or Viator. See photos of the description for this event … yet this is not true to how the tour is set up. Patiently waiting my refund. They really need to reword the description to be factual … you do not do the train first you get a car service to the winery first then the train. Would clear up a lot of confusion and aslo smooth over patrons expectations of the activity. We had a great time at ETNA URBAN WINERY!!

Most memorable I would say is that we were never picked up for this activity even calling the operator numerous times, no email response through viator app, viator supervisor failed to secure a pick up from alternative location or meeting point- email promised it would be sorted out. Well we missed it the event and at almost $1000 USD the customer service was less than stellar. Per the description it states “you’ll first enjoy a scenic train journey… “ this needs to be reworded that you take a ride in a car service to the winery

I don't love trains that much, but I have just fell in love with this little train because I never traveled on such a scenic railway. We opted for the return travel, so we enjoyed the unique and changing landscape, the small towns, woods and desert of lava after our winery experience. Beautiful!

Unforgettable experience! Probably I'm not totally neutral in this review because I do love trains... and when I have bumped into this activity I just said wow! But yes, it is wow! And if you also love wineries and wine tasting, well that's the perfect combo. Stunning organization by the operator (don't think other operators offer it).

We were on a two weeks tour in Sicily and decided to go with Travelosophy for several tours and services. This was just great. I love trains and I was amazed when I found out that they had a tour with a train included. The train is just like being on another planet and the wine tasting is the plus.

I think they’re the only operators offering this packages. We love trains and this is just stunning, with incomparable views of the volcano. We opted for the return by car. Luxury service indeed. The wine tasting was just awesome.
