Blue Hole Tour from Ocho Rios

Tyrone our driver was very knowledgeable and helpful. He even walked us into the shopping area afterwards and pointed out a good beach area for us to hang out on.
Our guide at the blue hole was absolutely invaluable! His name was something like Jivon. He helped me across each area , telling and showing us exactly where to step. He encouraged us to participate in the jumping and zip lining , but wasn’t pushy. He leapt around on the rocks like a gazelle. The blue hole was an AMAZING experience- so beautiful. He took tons of photos and videos of us, it was like having a private photographer at a beautiful setting.
I highly recommend this tour.

We had a lovely tour to the Blue Hole arranged by Jaital Tours.
Communication before the trip was excellent and we were able to find easily the meeting point and the driver.
The Blue Hole was just spectacular (you couldn't ask for more from any excursion) and after the excursion the driver took us to a nice souvenir shop near the centre of Ocho Rios where our tour ended.
The driver was very knowledgeable of the local history and local area and made us feel always relaxed and at ease.
Everything went extemely smoothly!!
Highly recommended!!

So I can only recommend this tour of you are good with jumping from a height. If you watch Olympic diving, the shortest of the platform dives is about the first jump. For the second jump you hold onto triangle trapeze long thing to swing out a little ways. That distance down is close to a standard diving board backyard pool height assuming you feel confident in holding your own weight for a few seconds.
I can say the guide was incredibly nice and helpful. He convinced me to try it by jumping the first jump with me. I might have enjoyed it if I’d held my nose. I can’t say I did the amount of water that went up my nose. But he helped me while I worked on being able to breathe again. I didn’t do the second because I had no confidence in being able to hold my weight for that one.
I will also add that it was nice that they didn’t overpack the van to get there unlike on my excursion for the next day. The part of the road closest to the excursion was incredibly bumpy but they did go as slow as was reasonable to make it as tolerable as possible.

We loved every minute of this tour. Our guide was so friendly and helpful! We all jumped and it was amazing. Brought my 67 year old mom and she couldn't navigate all the areas so be aware you need to be able uneven terrain. However the tour guide helped her to an area to watch the rest of us. I wish we could have stayed all day. I cannot Express how wonderful the tour guides were!

We went to the Blue Hole with 2 children aged 5 and 8.

The water was very fresh & it did take the kids longer to acclimatise to the water. It would have been good if we could have spent some time in the water to get used to the water before jumping.

My 8 yr old started off with small jumps but ended up doing the Tarzan swing & the final big jump by herself. My 5yr old was happy to do the small jump options but when on my husbands back to do the Tarzan swing. At the end he did ask to do back and do it all again!!

At the Blue Hole our guide was Kourtney. He was very good with the kids. He held their hands when walking in the faster flowing water and along the waterfalls. We felt confident in him. He encouraged by husband to do some jumps (he has a fear of heights) but never forced anyone to do anything they didn’t want to. When my 8yr old daughter decided to do the final jump he explained to her the best way to land & encouraged her. He also took videos of us.

At the end we saw the 98 photos that were taken of us. They wanted $60 for the DVD of the photos but accepted $30.

I booked the whole excursion via Tripadvisor with a company called Jaital. It was the best deal I found & a lot cheaper than the package our hotel were offering us. I booked at 5pm for a 1pm pick up the following day & received a confirmation email 3hrs later.

Our driver was Silvan. He arrived on time & never rushed us at any point. We were the only ones (5 of us aged 5-61) being picked up. He helped us sort out the waivers & made sure we got life jackets for the kids. He gave us some local information on our journey up to the Blue Hole. We were able to leave all our dry stuff in the car as he was waiting to take us back. He put paper in the floor of the car so when we finished we didn’t need to get changed we just sat on our towels in the car.

It was a fantastic experience. We are thinking of returning before our holiday is over...if we can fit it in!
