You will not only learn how to make mochi, but you will learn the cultural back ground of mochi in Japan. In this 2 hour course, you will make and taste 5 kinds of mochi dishes made from mochi flour and mochi rice. You'll get a hands-on experience of touching mochi and shaping it into various desserts. At the end of the course, you will be able to taste the Mochi with green tea or coffee. (Other fruit will be used in case strawberries are unavailable).

My family and I had a great time in Tokyo in general but we really loved this class and the instructors were knowledgeable and just fun to be around! They were awesome

I've been a longtime mochi fan so was delighted to get the chance to make my own. The location is easy to get to, right off the Meguro stop on the JR-Yamanote Line subway. We made a few different types of mochi, and it was an educational experience easy to understand for English speakers. Would highly recommend for both first time travelers to Japan and repeat visitors who've already done the typical tourist stuff.

We had a great time making mochi in this class (I believe we were one of the last to do so in the instructor's home as she was about to move to a nearby studio). I'm sure either way would be great. What I loved about the class was that it was the perfect balance of everything! We learned about the history of mochi making, it's significance to Japanese culture and holidays, then we got to make different types. Even then, some steps were prepared for us before hand to make the best use of our time (after all, it's fun to do something like this, but we're still tourists who have limited overall time in Japan - so I really appreciated this thoughtful step). This step allowed us to learn HOW to do it, while only focusing on the essential steps. Of course, at the end of the session, we got to taste all of the different kinds of mochi! Oishii!!! I would highly recommend this to friends and family!
