We had a very unpleasant stay at this resort.  It took hours to check in, only to find the pool closed by 6.  6pm at a resort people go to for vacation?  In addition, none of the jet system was operational in the pools.  It took a few hours the next morning, just to schedule the return pickup and excursions.  We missed more of our vacation time.  The resort was not prepared for the hurricane, despite days notice.  All the main restaurants were being closed up for dinner the night before the storm.  The day of, only the buffets were open for breakfast.  By evening, the only option was to-go boxes.  They had a sandwich, croissant, yougurt and muffin.  The sandwich was two slices of bread and a slice of cheese.  While waiting in line for these, you ran out, leaving us and a lot of people without food.  We requested more water and to have the mini bar restocked in the days prior to the storm.  No one showed up.  I was told no one would enter the room with the do not disturb sign on.  That was a lie.  Someone did come in a couple times to make the bed and deliver towels.  That’s when I discovered someone had been in my suitcase.  I marked the zipper locations before we left after suspicious calls.  I don’t know the exact amount, but I believe between $300 and $400 US was taken.  I don’t know what else is missing.  I was suspicious after getting calls to see if we had received our towels we requested (multiple calls).  We hadn’t requested any.  I believe this was a ruse to see if the room was empty.
The day after the storm, only the one buffet was open.  One restaurant to feed everyone.  At dinner, I waited over one hour in the pasta line to get served.  We were paying for a 5 star resort. For the rest of our stay, the main restaurants were not open.  All dinner reservations cancelled.  We were only able to eat at two of the main restaurants.  All the excursions were canceled.  The spa was canceled for days.  What were we paying for?
My wife and son are allergic to gluten.  There were very few options for them and those options didn’t change day to day.  It was pathetic.
This resort did not deliver as advertised.  The resort was ill prepared.  I can only imagine what would have happened, had the storm made a direct hit on the island.

I did not receive any response from the company, so have begun posting reviews. In addition, multiple family members in or group of 15, including myself, had cash stolen from our bags by staff.  They came in while do not disturb signs were on the doors.  There was often a “lookout” in the entries of the villas for them.  Employees would knock on the doors with the do not disturb sign in place.  These calls and knocking occurred during times the rooms would typically be empty.  We did not feel safe or secure.  This appears to be the standard operating procedure at your resort.
In addition, my wife’s phone was stolen by what appears to have been a staff member. She lost a day looking for it and security was in no help. Only after changing the message on it to “reward if found”, did a staff member come forward with it, after my family had departed for the airport. It was reportedly found in the exact location my wife was looking with others snd security the day prior.
We are considering seeing what news outlets would be interested in hearing our story.

Our driver, Sean, was punctual, friendly, and attentive! He was waiting for us when we walked out the airport and was right on time when we were leaving the hotel to return. Overall a very smooth ride. Thanks Groovy Tours!

I just thought it was funny how my driver arrived 10 minutes earlier, looking around for me as if IM LATE, so I feel rushed and pressured I immediately let the front desk know I have to go and I forget my blanket. Then i was notified, “ I can only be here for 10 min” with an attitude. No one told you to come so early you wouldn’t have “waited” so long. If you showed up at 1130 as ordered, everything would’ve went smooth.
Pickup time was 1130 mind you, it’s 11:25/26 at this point. We already in the car, headed out. We make it .2 miles and I asked if he can turn around in order for me to get what im missing. You’d think in the hospitality industry you’d show more good of it and just follow the passengers request., however I DID NOT get that from my driver. It was silent and the aggression of the wheel turn made me not feel comfortable. He was driving and talking on the phone up to his ear almost the entire time!!
Honorable mention, when I thanked him for returning to get my blanket he just stared at me in what looked like disgust. Lol. A “you’re welcome” probably could avoided this whole review.
I pray I’m not embarked with such rudeness again. We are the reason you guys have jobs, I don’t feel as though we should be treated like an inconvenience. Every other driver made us feel welcomed, asked if we needed anything, stop anywhere (even if it’s not apart of the journey), provided water as it is hot as ever and humid, and manners. I did not receive any of the above from my recent trip.
