From the moment I enquired about the 2 day inca Trail to us being dropped off at our hotel in Cusco afterwards, we felt supported and well informed with every step of the way.
David who I dealt with at the beginning was very patient and assisted with all my questions. Upon booking, my initial deposit failed and Alicja and David were very understanding and patient with us until the payment was made.
The night before the hike, our guide Ronald came to meet us at our hotel for a briefing of what to expect. Ronald was super amazing at explaining what the hike was going to entail.
The day of the hike came and I can’t express enough just how magical this trail was. Ronald, our guide was just the most perfect and passionate person to explain the history of the Incas, the fauna and always making sure we were safe. We were lucky to only have myself and my husband on the hike, we hiked at our own pace and it felt so personal and intimate.
We loved every minute of the 2 day Inca trail, it is a must and I would highly recommend booking with Andean path travel. The most important thing for us was communication and this is exactly what they delivered. I hope you get lucky and get Ronald as your guide too as he really was the icing on the cake on this hike. Truly a wonderful and magical experience.
Highly highly recommend.

From the beginning to the end is nothing short of amazing! David & Alicja was superb in assisting us in booking this magical experience. “Professor” Rom aka Ronalde is magnificent, the trip would not have been so beautiful, insightful and truly enjoyable if it was not for him!! We can’t thank Ron enough for creating this wonderful experience for us!! His knowledge and true passion is inspirational and we loved every moment of our trip. Oh and his photography skills are beyond superb!!! Muchas Gracias Senor.

We had a great experience with the travel service. The organizer Alicja and David were responsive and professional. They sent all details clearly ahead of the time which is very helpful. The tour guides from them were also great for our Sacred Valley tour and the MP hiking tour. Both guides are veterans in the area. Overall we would use them again if we come back later.

Having already visited Machu Picchu once previously "in a hurry" (one a one day return trip by train) I was keen to revisit but this time with the added experience of walking the footsteps of the ancient Incan trail.

With a really personal experience and a stellar review history both being priorities, me and my partner eventually settled upon Andean Path Travel to book our Two Day Incan Trail trek. From first contact, both Alicja and David immediately set us at ease; all responses to our (many) questions were answered quickly and fully, with Davide being particularly detailed and thorough during his briefing. All of this made sure that we were 100% prepared, ready and eager to begin.

In short, the trek itself was an absolute dream (and well worth the earlier start time, per Davide's recommendation). Shortly after dawn, we jumped off the train from Ollayantaytumbo at the 104km train stop and began the most incredible journey, through the Wiñay Wayna ruins and the awesome Sun Gate (where we stopped for the most delicious box lunch), until we reached Machu Picchu itself in all of its glory (magnified, even, by the very many steps that preceded our arrival).

Along the way, Davide was a really excellent guide, exhibiting every bit of his natural inquisitiveness and deep knowledge of Incan history (together with his patience for our countless questions). His passion was infectious and massively contributed to making the whole journey even more special.

Overall a 5 star, A + experience. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Andean Path Travel to anyone looking to organise a first class trek in the Cusco / Andean region!

Being a new traveller to South America, communication, experience, and reliability were key when embarking on the bucket list Inca Trail to Macchu Pichu. From the moment of introduction to the last goodbye, every aspect of each trip was planned personally and meticulously. The personal touch Alicja and David were able to apply was the cherry on top of a lifelong memory.

Prior to arrival Andean Path Travel were able to give a full detailed itinerary in an easy to digest, stress free format, this included packing lists, FAQs, and an extremely responsive Q/A contact. Upon arrival, the prior planning from the team was evident in the number of permits, bookings and transportation arrangements had been made in advance. This meant, I was purely able to turn up and have the remainder of plans laid out seamlessly for me.

We opted for the two-day trek on the legendary Inca Trail with hotel stay. This started with an early train from Ollayantatambo, this was an experience it itself, hiking from Km 104 on the trainline. We shortly crossed the Amazon river, then made our way onto the hike. The weather was changeable but made for an exciting trip! David was really prepared and reassuring for a visitor new to the country.

It was clear how precious the Sacred Valley is to the Peruvians, with permit checks frequently across the trek, David managed this whole process by showing passes and managing communication with Rangers. The trip and is luscious flora and fauna were a site to behold, David often stopping to share information on the beautiful orchids, or wildlife which was a plenty during the hike!

David had vast array of historical and archaeological knowledge, both about the Inca’s themselves and the development/protection of the trail, he stopped the group regularly to impart this knowledge and to ensure a pace suitable for the whole group. David fostered a jovial uplifting atmosphere, even when the hike was becoming tough in the heat of the day.

Throughout the trip our safety and comfort were well prioritised, the boxed lunch was delicious and most probably the best packed lunch I’ve ever had – we soon learn that this was provided by a small company in Ollantaytambo! How sweet?! David stopped us for lunch at the ‘Sun Gate’ – the first official look over Macchu Pichu it all of its glory – wow! Time was permitted here for a breather and some all-important photo snaps!

The remainder of the hike seemed to go really quickly as we made the decent to Macchu Pichu, again all tickets and passes were sorted, and we didn’t have to worry about anything administrative. David shared more local knowledge with us as we continued the walk. Finally, we made it onto the breath-taking photo platform, David shared some fun ideas for panoramic shots, we also had some time to sit and unsure the sight was engrained in our memories forever. This was a really peaceful time, this was very welcomed after the early start.

When we were all ready, we made our way down into Macchu Pichu Town, again with regular rest breaks and fact sharing intervals. We were kept together as a group and spirits were high! When arriving into Macchu Pichu we were taken for a short snack, the Peruvian recommendations were excellent – feasting on Tequenos and Guacamole! We were then escorted to our hotel to settle in and freshen up! The hotel was in an ideal location for exploring the town. It was a clean, safe and most importantly, had a great shower after the hot trip! After some further relaxation time, we made our way to the evening restaurant. Little did I know I was about to have the best pizza EVER! It was clear David and Alicja had scoped out all options in the locality, and settled on an amazing choice, After a huge pizza and one too many cocktails we made the guided slump back to the friendly hotel.

The following morning, David had arranged for us to attend the Hot Springs of Macchu Pichu town, David had arranged for first entry into the springs meaning it was ours to use exclusively until locals arrived a little later – this was the perfect way to re-energise after the trek the previous day. Again, costs included, organisations made, I just had to bring my bikini! This was definitely a great added extra.

After returning to the hotel for a simple breakfast, we made the hike back up to Macchu Pichu. This was a brilliant way to soak in the true majesty of the historic sight, again, plans made to beat the masses to the top. Entry again, arranged – we were treated to a detailed exploration around the Incan ruins. Having done my fact finding prior to the trip – I was able to ask David some complex questions – he answered each with confidence and with ease – it is clearly a passion of his.

Following the two hour tour, we made our way back down to Macchu Pichu down for some refreshing lunch and the train journey back to Ollantaytambo. David and Alicja were again, waiting for us at the station for us to embark on the final ‘Collectivo’ bus journey back to Cusco.

David and Alicja entertained us exceptionally well, they were wholehearted and thorough in every decision they made for us, and even provided the glittering extras we really didn’t expect. I would have no hesitation in recommending Andean Path Travel for anybody travelling into Peru, in fact I’d way it was a necessity! Thanks Andean Path Travel!

Andean Path Travel is a small family run company and it shows. They treat you like family the entire time! We spent almost 2 weeks in South America and this was the highlight of our entire trip. Two days was the perfect amount of time hiking the Inca trail and seeing Machu Picchu. Our guide David was absolutely spectacular. He went above and beyond. From meeting with us prior to the hike so that we knew what to pack and how to prepare, to ensuring the pace/water breaks worked for everyone on the trail. David was so personable and answered all our questions. He also gave us great recommendations for the rest of our travels. If I were to do it all again or try another hike, I would choose Andean Path Travel every single time. Thank you for a truly once in a live time experience.

This was the highlight of our South America trip! Our experience was absolutely amazing all thanks to Andean Path Travel and our guide, David. David and Alicja made it an absolutely stress free process starting from right when we booked. They were very quick to respond and coordinated transportation, all of the entry tickets, hotel, restaurants.. everything! We just showed up and had the best time!

David is extremely knowledgeable, fun, easy to get along with, and so kind!! Our hikes were a perfect combination of hiking and stops for learning and photo opps. The food included in the tour was amazing. We even learned a new game (the frog game), similar to American cornhole, that we stopped at a place on the way back to Cusco to play!

We were a small group and that made the experience much more personalized and valuable. Don’t go with a big tour company- you won’t get the bucket list experience you’re dreaming of. You’ll get that with Andean Path. It’s evident that Andean Path truly cares about, and prioritizes, their guests’ experiences. We would love to visit again and do more of their tours. Thank you Andean Path Travel!!

Traveler tip for those doing the 2-day Machu Picchu hike, do the Huayna Picchu add on for day 2. Absolutely amazing!

Our 2 Day short Inca trail trip to Machu Picchu was a trip of a lifetime. David, our guide from Andean Path was not only super friendly, but knowledgeable, extremely professional and truly looked after all of us! David went above and beyond, anticipating our every need. We learned so much history of Peru, Incas and Machu Picchu from him. When my husband and I didn't have it in us to hike Rainbow Mountain following the 2 Day Inca hike, David happily took our daughter and her friend to Rainbow Mtn and also Red Valley. We absolutely trusted David to take them on this next hike. He made sure they were well hydrated, had good food and paced them up the mountain and back down. They said it was an amazing trip with him. We cannot speak more highly of Andean Path Travel with Alicja's professionalism, prompt and concise communication to help us get organized for our trip, and of course our impressive guide! We would love to return to Peru and would definitely call upon Andean Path and David to lead us on another memorable adventure. Thank you again to Andean and the entire team for creating wonderful lasting memories! The Stern Family
PS I have already passed along Andean Path to several families here in Colorado who heard about our adventure!
