I had a hard time accepting the cost of the VIP experience but I am so glad that I did it! It truly is the only way to see the entire park and ride all of the rides in one day. Christina S from Burbank was our guide and she was absolutely wonderful. There were 12 in our group but by the end of the day most had gone off on their own leaving just 5 of us which was even nicer. We got to do whatever we wanted and walked right up to every ride. I didn’t want to ride the Mummy ride so Christina went as the buddy to my daughter which worked out great. When you exit a ride you end up in the gift shop for that ride but being with the group we never stopped to shop and that actually worked out perfect for us! We could’ve went back after the tour to do our own shopping but luckily we’re past that phase. Food allergy friends: email the park directly about a week before you visit and ask for a list of safe foods for your specific allergies. I did this and a lady named Heather helped me. This service is a must and so appreciated!

This was a great experience with a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide - Patrick. We were a group of eight and two other couples joined our tour. I would suggest the guide bring SPF lotion or that it be offered at the start of the tour as I had to apply to everyone when it got very sunny. One couple in particular were getting quite burnt. The studio tour was everyone's favorite part of the tour. Patrick's historical back stories even captivated our young kids. Lunch was out of this world. A huge selection to please everyone. The one big let down though was huge and really affected our experience. We made the trip specifically to ride Bowser's Challenge and the ride broke down just as we got to the front and never opened back up for the rest of the day. This was even more devastating as it also broke down the previous day when we were non VIP. While this was outside of Patrick's control I do think Universal should have offered some compensation for their main attraction being down for the two days we were there.

We had a wonderful day. Mark, our guide was top notch and knew so many stories about cinema history, shows, fun facts etc… my 11 year old had a blast. And we still had time to explore the park on our own after the tour where we got to do all the main rides barely waiting in line. Definitely the way to go. It’s expensive but completely worth it if you can afford it.

Let me say this is not cheap. Because it was June the price jumped to $449/pp. That being said it was worth every penny. We were only spending one day at Universal and the to do list my son had was long. Reasons it is worth the cost if you don’t have a lot of time.
1. It closes fairly early at 8pm during the week.
2. Your guide will take you to the front of the line for all the rides. Even past fast pass people. This is the ONLY way not to wait forever for the Mario ride. Also great with HP rides.
3. Your studio tour allows you to get off in areas that aren’t shown in the regular tour. It also will end up being a much longer tour. Next time we are thinking VIP but join up with the group after the studio tour since we will have already done it before. There are special 60th anniversary areas that will end in August.
4. You have a private lounge area you can use and get bottled water, juice, etc. at. This was nice as a quiet place to just rewind a bit. I was surprised at what they called “snacks”. It was sandwiches, fresh fruit, sweets, etc. Basically we had lunch there.
5. The buffet for dinner was nice. There were several options for everyone from prime rib to chicken strips & vegetarian. That being said some were a little dry but that tends to happen on buffets. It was still much better than standing in line for basically over priced fast food.
6. You get your VIP lanyard right away, so you can do rides, etc. on your own before your tour. We just used that time to do character photo ops instead.
The drawbacks are: not much time to do the HP world if you have wands, etc. I think that could be several hours itself. No character meet & greets. We did a mid-morning tour, earlier in morning might be better. We rode every ride except for Despicable Me. We did have time on our own & got in our character photos.

We had the best day! Check in at the VIP lounge was easy, breakfast spread was beautifully done and very good! They had lots of nice sandwiches with a breakfast twist, pastries, oatmeal, yogurts, fruit and more. The lounge is comfortable! Our tour guide, Robert, was a star!! We had the best time with him and hearing all about universal studios. Getting behind the scenes tours and walking through some of the sets that have been used in the past was truly special! Lunch was also a great set up! Buffet style with everything you can think of - most of it was very good. The kids enjoyed it a lot, too! They have characters coming to visit and say high there as well - the restaurant is only for VIP tickets holders, so that’s nice because it’s not crazy busy!
I will say, a big perk is getting to the front of the line and not waiting 1.5 hours for a single ride. Also, the VIP lets you use that perk all day and multiple times per ride, which is awesome!
It’s worth every penny, if you can stomach it financially, to make your experience even that much more rewarding! It truly takes the discomfort and agony of a busy theme park right out of the equation!

What a experience, expensive to purchase however well worth the money, well looked after, Breakfast and buffet lunch provided. Skip the lines and saw so much because of the VIP experience. Highly recommend doing Universal studios on this tour. Our guide Danny was amazing with great knowledge of the studios.

This was one of the best decisions that we made. I 100% believe the value of these VIP far exceeds the money spent. Besides having access to the front of the line (even more front than the express pass) and being expertly guided through the park, the VIP Valet and buffet lunch were great. I had low expectations for the food and was quite impressed with the variety and quality. Beyond the food, the restaurant was not packed and we never felt rushed.
Our guide, Matt F., was great with a lot of trivia and historical knowledge of the movie studios past.
I would not recommend for children. The pace could be considered a little slow and the 2 families with kids under 10, ended up skipping out less than half way through b/c they were bored. We started with the back stage tour and finished with the park/rides.
