This company is very disjointed. They subcontract with many companies and so each day you’re with different groups of people. They changed our hotel while we were there - not sure why. We were told they would drop us off at our next hotel at the end of the tour. No such luck. They wouldn’t even answer the text, so we had to make our own arrangements.
They changed the order of the tours and so one day our last tour stop is at Ollantaytambo which is more than 2 hrs from Cusco. We get back to Cusco at about 9pm. The next morning we get back on another bus at 3am right back to the same place for another 2 hr bus ride en route to Machu Picchu. We get back to our hotel by about 12:30am and the next morning have to wake up by 3:30am for a 4am pickup.
Definitely could have been planned better. They could have given us the option of staying in a hotel in Ollantaytambo overnight and saving almost 5 hrs of driving. This also would have meant starting earlier the next day and getting back to Cusco before midnight.
Finally, every tour, while bilingual, was overwhelmingly Spanish speaking. Many of the tour guides were very good - they were subcontracted and not part of this company. Every day there were people from many different tour companies. There were typically 2 to 4 other people who were native English speaking on each tour. Other English speaking tour groups, that we would see at various locations, were able to go into much more detailed explanations as the tour guides didn’t have to explain everything twice.
Also, we had to keep reminding one of the tour guides to repeat it in English. Sometimes he would say, “oh that wasn’t important, we were just talking”. I’ve been to many of these places in Peru previously on other tours. We went with this company because of the variety of places they offered and we booked last minute. However, if you have time to plan, you can certainly save money and book all the same tours through individual companies- just make sure you book Machu Picchu early. Would not recommend this company.
