The first tour I booked for Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel was canceled. I called Viator, and the rebooked me on the same tour for the same day but different time. I was told tour would be 3 hours. When we got to the tour (skip-the-line) the 4 people in my group we added to another group. The tour was supposed to start at 11 a.m., but we didn't actually start until 12:45 p.m. The tour lasted 1 hour. We lost about half of our group when we were getting ready to enter the Sistine Chapel. The tour guide didn't care, she just moved on. She left us in the Sistine Chapel and ended our tour there. She was not a very good guide. A lot of her descriptions had sexual innuendo, which I found to be unprofessional. I paid MORE for this tour than the one that was canceled. I didn't receive what the booking agent described and was very disappointed. It was a waste of money.

Our guide was very informative and his history of the Vatican was very impressive! The tour took most of the day and he did not stop to even take a drink. The only thing i found is that we weren't given much time to take photos as the tour moved quite quickly as there is so much to see but it wasn't a problem as we walked back into the Vatican after the tour finished to take some photos.

Our tour was absolutely amazing. We got lucky and only had 4 people in our group. Our guide Massimo Lacobelli was the best! Great sense of humor and so passionate about his job. You could tell he genuinely loved giving tours and made the experience that much better. We booked a second tour with the same company because of how good Massimo and the organization was.

Itg may or may not be the fault of the tour company, but ALL of the group tours are sent through at the same time. There's no time to really stop and enjoy the museums because the guide keeps admonishing you to keep moving. We were told we would be taken through the Vatican gardens and we were not. We were told we would get a guided tour inside St. Peter's Basilica and we did not.

We had a great time learning about the history of the Vatican, sistine chapel and st Peter's basilica. Our guide Laura (at about tours)was very knowledgeable and nice. We definitely recommend this tour guide to all. Her English was very. Thanks for a wonderful day Laura.

My family had a great tour and excellent learning experience on the Vatican tour. Learned the history and interpretations of the paintings and sculptures in the museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica. Our guide, Maria, did an excellent job on the tour. Thank you!

We found ourselves outside the Vatican without tickets (as hadn't planned to visit until the last minute). I know better than to buy tickets without doing any research before hand but was worried about the queues so went for it and purchased tickets with All Saints Tours from a tout who started off being very helpful which of course is a sales tactic. There was too much talking outside the museum which meant we were too tired and fed up to make the most of the Basilica after the tour. Also they asked for a deposit for the headphones after paying for the tour but I got suspicious when they asked for cash only for this so said no. I have read other reviews to say you would not have got this deposit back which was a further 30 euros. The tour was 42 euros each to give you a guide price. Book in advance online and if you want a guide choose very carefully.

The sheer volume of people in the heat can make this a hard visit and without pre booking, you could queue for a few hours. However, the guided tour made it so much easier and well worth paying the extra for. Once we had met at the meeting point, the guide took us straight throughs security and collected our tickets and made us use the toilet as once you are in the museum you have to follow the flow of people (there is no turning back). Our guide pointed out the most important parts (she said it would take 7 years to spend 60 seconds looking at each item!), and did a great job in keeping our attention throughout the museum tour. She explained the rules of entering the Sistine Chapel (she had earlier explained the art work that covers the chapel which made it so much more meaningful) and then took us to the entrance of St Peters before leaving us.
