Due to the curious and unique conformation of its mountains, glaciers, lakes, waterfalls, flora and fauna, it is considered one of the most beautiful parks in the world. The best day trip you can do in El Calafate, the tour starts early in the morning, on the way to the border crossing (Road of gravel) "Cancha Carrera" to enter Chile. In this adventure through Chilean lands (gravel road), its main attractions are the Mirador del Lago Sarmiento de Gamboa, Saltos del Rio Paine, Superior Mirador Cerro Almirante Nieto/Cuernos del Paine, Laguna Amarga Entrance. Once inside the Torres del Paine National Park, we will be ready to start with the different trekking trails. Where, accompanied by our local experts, a lunch box will be provided. Then we will continue exploring and getting to know the southernmost part of Patagonia, we will learn about its flora and fauna.

Torres del Paine is an unbelievable place! Beautiful! We were still lucky because the day helped! The guide Nico was very good, giving lots of information about geology, fauna and flora. The bus broke down before we got back, but they fixed it relatively quickly. It's a tiring tour, as it's far and crosses borders, but it's worth it!

El Calafate and its glaciers must be visited. The main attraction are actually the Glaciers. I suggest before visiting them, going to the Glaciarium to understand the formation, preservation and mechanisms of ice, as well as the region as a whole. Practically all attractions are paid. Two days visiting different glaciers is enough in my opinion. It's also worth a day getting to know the very charming city. Great restaurants, cafes, shops and even a casino. Take dollars, as they make good exchange/exchange. There are shops and cafes that can exchange currency. If you are going to use Wester Union, collect weights before arriving, as the local unit does not carry out this operation there. Correio Argentino can do it, IF THEY HAVE pesos. I tried twice and couldn't. I took dollars and made a good exchange. I advise you to plan trips to the Glaciers on the first day you arrive. I suggest two operators. Hielo and Adventure and Solo Patagonia. These two are the ones that do it. Many others are just agencies that sell these packages. If you are going to do the Mini-Trekking on the Perito Moreno Glacier, especially between December and February, buy it on the website at least 2 to 3 months in advance. Believe me, if you wait to buy it when it arrives, you won't make it. It sells out quickly.

When Visiting El Calafate, this is a good Opportunity to see Torres del Paine! The Trip is long, due the distance to the National Park. The Communication is very good! The provided food is more than enough! The guide is excellent! The View and Spots are good chosen. The Seats and the „Batmobile“ are comfortable. If you don’t have an own Car, this is a good choice. They even help you with the borders and Np Tickets.

A long day, but oh so worth it!
The views are spectacular - and we went on a snowy and overcast day - I imagine on a clear day it would be magnificent!
The scenery in the National Park truly needs to be seen to be believed!
A lunch package is provided, and the contents were more than adequate for the long day.

It is about a 15 hour round trip (crossing the borders takes time) so wouldn’t recommend it for travellers with children.

Also, remember if you’re an Australian you need to pre-apply for Chilean visa!
