After the pickup (cruise terminal, hotel, etc.) we will drive directly to the world heritage city of Valparaíso. The only stop will be made at the catholic church lo Vasquez, famous for the biggest pilgrimage in Chile (on the 8th of December).

Arriving to Valparaíso, we will explore and learn about the importance of the port city until the opening of the panama channel in 1914. Since about 30 years the city has transformed into the cultural and artistic center of the country, we will stroll through the hills and back alleys, enjoy street art, art galleries and little pubs and shops.

We will continue to the capital Santiago de Chile, passing through the famous vine valley of Casablanca. You will see the similarities to the Nappa and Sonoma valleys in California, and it´s the chance to taste one of the best white wines of South America! In the late afternoon, we will arrive at your final destination (cruise terminal, hotel, etc.).

Philipp was a fantastic tour guide for our day in Valparaiso, Vina del Mar, and Casablanca! He has a great perspective of the world from his time in Germany, South America, and many other places. He tailored the tour perfectly to our group and what we wanted to see. I couldn't have asked for a better pickup at the port, day trip, and a drop-off in Santiago. Thank you!

We had a wonderful time on the tour. Philipp and his team are great! Our cruise ship visited San Antonio and we had a tour for 31 people. We were in 3 groups in comfortable vans with knowledgeable guides. Philipp is a great tour guide and we saw and learnt so much during our tour of Valparaiso. We learnt about the fascinating street art, the history and culture of Valparaiso and had a ride on one of the funiculars and much more. Philipp is such a lovely person. He is so knowledgable and very friendly. We had lots flexibility to tweak our tour: from arranging our itinerary at booking through to on the day. Nothing was too much trouble. The empanadas at the cafe he took us we’re delicious. The vineyard stop with wine tasting, where all 3 groups met up, was a great end to a fabulous day. Many thanks Philipp.

Philip was really a great guide. Since we had been to Valparaiso once before, we chose to see San Antonio and surrounds. Philip was charming so easy to talk to. Only complaint, the other couple was late getting off the ship, and we waited for them for 40 minutes. Rude of them but nice of Philip to wait.

Glad we chose Philipp as he was one of the best guides we had on our SA cruise around the Horn.

Knowledgeable, conversational, considerate, flexible, and funny, he chose “different” scenarios for us to experience that helped us for a more complex impression of the area. Small coastal villages, poets, huge residential developments (largest swimming pool in the world), a first class winery for lunch, an organic winery for tasting (delicious) ..... all were well chosen and fit our small group size of 14 perfectly.

My husband and I took this tour on our second day in Chile before getting on a cruise ship. We started and ended in San Antonio, which is where the cruise ships dock, but otherwise is a small city that has very little to recommend it.

We were picked up in a small passenger van and went with two other couples from a ship that was in port that day. We started the morning by visiting two beautiful wineries and tasting their wines, which were exceptional. Then we headed up to Valparaiso, drove around to see some of the sights and stopped for lunch at a lovely restaurant overlooking the water. Lunch was on our own.

Afterwards, we were driven through some of the older, more colorful parts of Valparaiso. Unfortunately, the demonstrations that started in Chile last October have taken their toll on this lovely city. Tagging, burned buildings, and shuttered businesses were prominent throughout. We also saw similar destruction in other parts of Chile during our cruise which made us wonder if Chileans are trying to ruin their country because if they continue, which they are expected to do when their summer holidays are over and everyone returns, they are going to drive tourism out. We didn't see any demonstrating, just the effects. Really a shame.

While the day was fun and informative, it was disappointing that we did not get out of the van except to visit the wineries and go to the restaurant for lunch. The description of the tour suggested we would be walking around, visiting art galleries and shops, and seeing some things up close, like the flower clock, but all of it was through the windows of the van. Our trip might have been cut a bit short because the two couples we were with were anxious to get back to their ship before it sailed. I'm not sure. But it would have been nice to walk around more and get a more up-close experience in Valparaiso.

Philipp met us at the dock and we toured Valparaiso for the day and finished with a wine tour. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area and it was a very enjoyable day. The next day he gave us a tour of downtown Santiago and then we toured 3 different wineries. I would highly recommend his as a tour guide.

We had the best time thanks to Philipp.
He’s an amazing tour guide and went above and beyond the call of duty. He’s such a great human being and made our private tour incredible.

We needed to get from Santiago Airport to our hotel in San Antonio, Chile for a cruise were going on the following day. Manuel, our driver, was waiting for us at the airport when we arrived and drove us safely to our destination. Although we speak very limited Spanish and he very limited English we were able to communicate... At least we both tried!

After such a positive experience I emailed Phillip, who I think was the owner asking for a ride to the cruise terminal from our hotel. His reply was that although he could arrange this he said it would be less expensive hiring a cab. Wow, what an honest man! He easily could have done this, but he showed more concern for me. I would gladly recommend his services to others.

My father and I had a great tour throughout out the Santiago, Valparaiso and San Antonio region before embarking on a cruise down the Chilean coast. Philipp and "Michael the German Pirate" are first-rate tour guides who took us to little-visited places off the beaten path in a short amount of time. A great introduction to Chile if you've just flown in from somewhere!
