One of the best food tours we've done. And that's saying something as we've spent the last ten years or more tasting and travelling several continents.
Renato was one of the best guides we've had. Top two if not the best. His knowledge of such a wide variety of subjects was superb. Guides and tours like this is why we do food tours. It's just the best way to learn about a city.
Fantastic food and drink that we wouldn't have tried otherwise.

Ronaldo was our host and, being a history graduate, gave us a great insight into the history of the town complemented by his excellent culinary knowledge.
Our tour started with sardines and wine tasting at 10.30am - not a bad way to start a Friday. This was followed by more wine with cheese and charcuterie at the Mercado do Bolhao (we visited a slightly different venue to the usual part of the tour due to Good Friday closures). Next we moved onto salt cod fritters and local samosas with white port at a nearby restaurant, followed by bifanos and beer at Conga and lastly three ports at a beautiful old store we can't remember the name of.
It was an easy walking distance between the food venues and we even managed to avoid most of the rain showers.
This was the perfect way to spend a few hours in Porto and Ronaldo was the consummate host. If we returned we would definitely book another tour with Ronaldo.

Renato was really accommodating to our needs even though we were running late with our enthusiastic shopping!

A fabulous way to spend a few hours exploring the sights and flavours of Porto in the company of a guide who was both knowledgeable and passionate about his country and city. Renato was a warm and friendly host, fluent in English with a breadth of geopolitical and historical knowledge not only of his mother country but also the wider European interplays over the last millennium, which made for a riveting and educational experience, and some wonderful sights. Now to the food: outstanding. Renato introduced us to an eclectic mix of the best that Porto had to offer, enabling us to return on the following days to buy and re-taste the best again, and sample other delights thanks to his introductions and recommendations. You may be wondering whether the price is justifiable? No, it’s not: it’s most definitely undervalued! Without hesitation I would book again in the full and certain knowledge that Renato would be able to provide a different but similarly unique, entertaining and enjoyable tour of this wonderful city. Highly recommended.

We continue to love our tradition of taking a local food tour as soon as possible after arriving in a new destination. What a great way of getting to know a new country, culture, and cuisine. And the Porto Premium Gastronomic Tasting tour did not disappoint! Renato, our guide, could not have been more fun, knowledgeable, and helpful. The food was incredible, and included stops at places we never would have found by ourselves. We learned a lot, ate a lot of really excellent food, and laughed a lot. Just a really great afternoon! Renato even emailed us some local recommendations that really came in handy the next day and saved us from making some potential mistakes on our visit to Gaia.
If you are lucky enough to visit Portugal and Porto, do not hesitate to book this tour and ask for Renato by name! You will not be disappointed!

What a deliciously fascinating afternoon we had with the jovial and witty Renato. Even after 2 weeks in the country, we tasted so many new dishes and learned so many new factoids about Portugal's rich history. Renato rooted each of our charming stops in his deep knowledge of the the city and its people, adding authenticity and character to an already delectable experience. There is no better way to take in the city - and no one better to lead you through it!
