Hearing stories of Hiroshima City, Miyajima and the Peace Memorial Park were priceless. You can’t get that kind of detail from reading the signs and looking things up online. Takeshi was friendly, knowledgeable, organized, and an excellent guide. Seeing the dome and being at ground zero for the atomic bomb strike was emotionally powerful. I recommend this tour for adults and families alike although some younger children may find the museum photos of injuries and the dead disturbing.
We only gave 4 stars because we could have used another 30 minutes of time on Miyajima to shop and eat and another hour in the museum. I know it’s a tight agenda with the long Shinkansen ride on both ends though. We were only able to visit the main museum building and that was a bit rushed. Thank you to our guide Takeshi for recommending we start with the main building! You can sign out of the tour and stay longer at the museum but you’ll need to change your return Shinkansen ticket.
The meeting point in Kyoto was difficult to find being downstairs. More signs in the main traffic area or directions to go downstairs would be helpful.

Most touching part of Japan trip!
This is third of our trip with viator and they arranged this one uniquely.Miyajima was fantastic and Hiroshima....unforgettable. Tour guide was good.We came back with long itched memories.

we went to Miyajima island, on an organized trip from 17 to 26 May 2024, to see the temple during high tide but thanks to the guide who gave us wrong directions we arrived at low tide.
Unfortunately, this was not the only episode of inaccurate indications. I would not recommend Guinness.

Taeko Watanabe was a brilliant tour guide, gave lots of interesting and useful information during the tour!
The tour ran smoothly, not much waiting around time, which meant we got the full experience at each venue.
From the train, the bus took us to Miyajima, got a guided tour followed by 80 mins of free time to get food, see parts of the island, get pictures with the Torii gate. Then bus back to Hiroshima, saw the famous atomic bomb dome, guided tour of the peace park and memorials, followed by an hour to go around the museum which was heartbreaking.
Overall a fantastic experience, absolutely worth the time and money, took the pressure off a self guided excursion which would not have been so well planned within the timeframe, and added so much detail we wouldn't have had if we did it ourselves, from the insight of Mrs Watanabe.

It was well planned and coordinated and the guide was good. Should include lunch for vegetarians there was nothing there to eat in Miyajima island

Great trip
Well organised and interesting
The locations were beautiful although I would have reduced about 1/2 hour on both stops and come back earlier. A bit tiring
