Guarded by a monumental statue of Hindu deity Lord Murugan, the Batu Caves are a Malaysian national treasure and an unmissable day trip from Kuala Lumpur. These limestone caves harbour Hindu temples where dioramas of mythic scenes glow beneath stalactites, bats flutter in the shadows, and monkeys prey on tourists hiking the 272 stairs to Temple Cave.

One of the world’s most iconic engineering feats, the PETRONAS Twin Towers are the pride of Malaysia, symbolising its growth as an industrialised nation. The buildings are linked at the 41st and 42nd levels by a distinctive skybridge, open to the public at selected hours for an unparalleled view.

The Merdeka Square is located exactly opposite the Sultan Abdul Samad Building and right beside the Royal Selangor Club. This is the historical place where the Union Flag was lowered and the Malayan flag was raised for the very first time at the struck of midnight of 31st August 1957. From then on, Merdeka Square has been the venue for the annual Merdeka Parade.

Known to locals as Pasar Seni, this bazaar houses more than 350 shops retailing traditional goods, art collectibles, local handicrafts, and more. The three zones—Lorong Melayu, Lorong Cina and Lorong India—feature stalls that highlight the three main races in Malaysia. Experience the different cultures and heritage as you browse through the shops. You can also snag unique souvenirs like Borneo pearls, Wau Bulan (a traditional Malay kite), and the quintessential Batik for keepsakes

This ornate Chinese temple dedicated to the Queen of Heaven, Thean Hou, protectorate of people who make their living from the sea. The temple borrows from Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian traditions. Some visitors believe the panoramic views of KL alone make the trip up the hill worthwhile.

Heading back to sweet hotel room in Singapore. On the way will stop for quick dinner / toilet breaks
