A great mix of walks and towns visited, giving much appreciation of the history in this area especially the gold fields. Relaxing accommodation and meals with fellow guests made a great short trip away.

Goldfields hike was four days of really enjoyable walking through interesting heritage, old mining and eucalyptus forested landscapes and fascinating old gold towns, now featuring classy cafes, wineries and restaurants while retaining the character of the past. Highlights of the trip included professional and friendly guides and a friendly assortment of fellow walkers. I came away with a new respect for the gold diggers and the pioneers who established the remote towns.
The daily tracks are very achievable and mostly level but I used two walking poles and recommend mostly wearing hiking boots as the ground can be uneven and rocky. It may not be for those who are looking for a more challenging and remote location hike.

A great walk into history and present gold field towns, informed by knowledgeable and friendly guides.. The walks are easy to moderate and take you through the land and creeks worked by the miners. Loved Hanging Rock and the many interesting additional activities in the towns of today eg. restaurant, wines, coffee shops and spa. Accommodation and transport were excellent and met my expectations.

I can’t rate this experience highly enough.
It was the first hiking experience my sister and I have undertaken so we were a bit apprehensive about what to expect.
We needn’t have worried. Although we were challenged physically it was not overly arduous and we learned so much about the gold rush era and the Daylesford region. Our two guides were very knowledgeable in regard to this.
Our group of eight got on very well particularly over evening dinner and drinks when we discussed our days hiking.
Our accommodation was in a beautiful old home in Daylesford.
Our hikes were interspersed with visits to places of interest such as the Daylesford natural springs bath house and a chocolate shop.
We couldn’t have asked more from our guides. They pulled out all stops to make sure we had a great time.
My sister and I will definitely sign up for future walks.
