WHAT TO EXPECT

1.
Our first stop is at the iconic Eilean Donan Castle. This castle is instantly recognisable the world-over as it has featured in many films and innumerable Scottish souvenirs! We will stop at our favourite vantage point here to enable you to take some photos and admire the majestic beauty of this iconic sight in its wonderful coastal location. Please note that there will NOT be an opportunity to visit the castle.
2.
Upon arrival in Portree your guide will point you in the direction of the harbour viewpoint; from here you can admire the pretty pastel-coloured houses that the town is famous for. With its quirky shops, cute cafes, picturesque location and interesting sights you will certainly find plenty to occupy you during our 45 minute stop here. This will be your opportunity to purchase lunch from one of the town's bakeries or yummy takeaways.

As we drive north we will stop at a loch-side viewpoint, where you will have chance to admire the unique rock formation of the Old Man of Storr. This 50 metre high pinnacle juts out from the awesome Trotternish Ridge, an area which will be widely recognised from blockbuster films including Ronin 47, Macbeth, Snow White & The Huntsman, Prometheus and The BFG.

Kilt Rock is an exposed sea cliff which resembles the traditional Highland kilt, and which never fails to impress our guests. It also boasts a waterfall which cascades 60ft (180m) into the Sound of Raasay below - a truly unique sight, and particularly so when the wind blows the waterfall back up the cliff!

You will have time to hike up to this beautiful series of pools and waterfalls, which are famed for their crystal clear water. The scenic walk to the first pool is slightly uphill and takes around 20 minutes (distance is 0.7 miles) and the most impressive waterfall is 5 minutes further on (0.9 miles total). Most guests spend their time around this area, admiring the famous crystal clear waters, and the stunning Cuillin Mountain backdrop. There are photo opportunities aplenty, and your guide will be available to take group and couple shots if you wish. Please be aware that the walk to the Fairy Pools and back is a total of around 1.5 miles and will take around 40 minutes, so you do require a moderate level of fitness.
6.
After seeing all of the highlights of the Isle of Skye we will head back over the bridge. From here we head back east, through stunning mountains and picture-postcard Highland scenery, and your guide will fill you in on the bloody history that led to these once thriving glens becoming the desolate and lonely places they are today.
7.
Near the end of our journey we will get our first glimpse of that body of water the Highlands is so famous for; Loch Ness. As we drive along, hugging the shores of the loch, your guide will regale you with the colourful history of the world-famous monster, whilst you keep your eyes peeled for her!
8.
It's our last photo stop of the day, and it's certainly a WOW one! We will view this magnificent medieval castle from above, admiring its location on a distinctive peninsula jutting out onto the mysterious Loch Ness. From here, it is a short drive back to Inverness, where you will arrive back with memories to last a lifetime!

Had a great trip on the ultimate Isle of Skye tour from Inverness. Andrew is a very professional and knowledgeable guide and gives entertaining commentary along the way. We were always given at least the amount of time advertised at each stop, and even had time to walk around the Eilean Donan Castle as an extra stop. It was clear that the trip was very carefully planned and well organised.

What a WOW day with Andrew and the full day isle of Skye tour from Inverness. We had different ability levels in our group and everyone had a lovely day. Scotland is GORGEOUS, and Andrew made it come alive with the lore and stories that kept us entertained during long stretches of road.

The fairy pools were our favorite! Such a stunning magical place. Do yourself a favor and go with a smaller company who can give you personalized attention in this magical land!

What a wonderful day we had with our tour guide Andrew. He is a delightful storyteller and excellent driver! Our day was filled with amazing views and tips on where to look for unexpected sights. We even had a couple of unadvertised stops where we enjoyed bonus views. We had sunshine and rain, an altogether amazing day. I would highly recommend this tour.

Excellent tour which took us to see so many highlights of the highlands. Our guide, Andrew, was very personable and an excellent storyteller. I loved hearing the history of the area and he presented it in such an engaging way. The lunch ordered for the tour from the Isle of Sky Baking Company was fresh, filling, and so delicious! I highly recommend WOW Scotland Tours.

Definitely one of the highlights of our 10 day trip to Scotland. This tour went to amazing places in the Highlands and particularly on the Isle of Skye. As parents trying to plan travel with our kids, there is absolutely no way we could have known how to recreate that trip on our own. Our tour guide Murdoch provided tons of history and kept us all entertained all day with his amazing story-telling. Also, stopping to pick up our lunch in Portre was wonderful - we got to see the wonderful town and Liza made us a delicious lunch, complete with some great bake goods that kept us fueled up all day, particularly for our hike to the fairy pools. This tour is particularly good for families who want to explore Skye, don’t want to drive on the left side of the road!, and want an entertaining and well-curated experience.

The tour was very well spun by Andrew. He has interested us with his stories of historical characters from Scotland. And he really narrates great. In addition we have visited Portree, Kilt Rock or laa Fairy Pools. Highly recommended

It was raining so took something from the views. But we'll organized outing and the number of waterfalls was impressive. The guide, Andrew, kept us entertained with historical stories. Great experience.
