We couldn't recommend Shawn and his Mt. Fuji tour more! He showed us around the best views and parts of the five-lake area. Shawn was extremely accommodating and knew all of the best places to go! He also timed out our very cloudy day so we could still have amazing views of Mt. Fuji. The food was so tasty, and we enjoyed getting to know Shawn and learning more about the area! Truly, this was the best tour we did in Japan!

Shawn was an AMAZING tour guide, he was very knowledgeable about the history and terrain. His English was good, so that was a plus for conversations. It was pouring down raining so we didn't do the BBQ, but he recommended a delicious steakhouse that was reasonably price. Highly recommend!

We can’t thank Shawn enough for the incredible Mt. Fuji tour. It was an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience, made even more special by his warmth and enthusiasm. His passion for what he does was evident in every moment!
Shawn’s presence made us feel like we were with an old friend and at home. He went the extra mile in everything, making the journey to Mt. Fuji truly magical. We are especially grateful for how beautifully he helped my partner with his proposal to me. It was a moment we will cherish forever, especially myself.
We had great conversations with Shawn on the drive there about his passion for travel and exploring the world, and everything else in between! When asked what his dream job was, he said, “This is my dream job.” You can see his dedication to fulfilling his dream and passion has also inspired my partner and me.
Let’s also not forget the incredible BBQ he whipped up. It was incredibly tasty, and we miss his beautiful homemade rolls he gave us.

Our tour guide was Shawn. We loved the views, lunch, the soft cream at the cow resort, forest hike, and waterfalls. He spoke great English and really knew the area well. His vehicle was comfortable and clean. Shawn went out of his way to prepare vegetarian food options for our daughter. He marinated meats and got us fresh veggies as well. The BBQ was a highlight not to mention all the photos he took of us at the best spots. This is the tour to book. Ask for Shawn!

Our adventure began with a visit to the beautiful Fuji Five Lakes area. Shawn provided detailed explanations about the geological formation and significance of each lake, enriching our understanding of this stunning natural landscape. The serene beauty of Lake Kawaguchi, with Mount Fuji majestically reflected in its waters, was a highlight.
However, the most memorable part of the tour was our visit to the location depicted on the 1000 yen bill, offering a breathtaking view of Mount Fuji. Shawn was an amazing guide for our day from Tokyo to see the incredible Mt Fuji! Not only did he keep us well entertained with lots of information on our 2 hour car ride, he took us to the best viewing spots off the beaten path and away from the crowds. The highlight of our time with him was the great bbq in the woods alongside Lake Motosu with a beautiful view of the north side of Mt. Fuji. We got to grill most of it ourselves and it was delicious! Another added bonus was a festival of pink flowers and fresh ice cream from a local dairy. This is the only way to do Mt. Fuji and no one knows it better than Shawn!

Shawn is the man! We wanted to check out Mt. Fuji during our stay in Tokyo, but got overwhelmed with all the public transit options and decided to look for a local to drive us and show us the area. This was by far one of the best choices we made during the whole trip!
Shawn contacted us a few days before to check in and let us know about weather conditions on our booked day. He was right on time at the pick up point and no problem to find. We had a smooth ride out to the Mt Fuji area - after experiencing the packed Japanese train system for the first time it was kind of a relief to have a quiet car to ourselves. Shawn was super fun to chat with (fully fluent in English for any folks nervous about potential language barriers). He gave us plenty of options about places we could go in the area, but ultimately we left it up to him to select the best sights. He took us to an amazing observation deck, several sight-seeing spots to get pictures of Mt Fuji from different vantage points, we had a delicious lunch at an adorable local restaurant, and he even drove us well out of the way to go see the most amazing patch of fully bloomed cherry blossoms (well ahead of season and basically the only fully bloomed patch we saw the whole trip). The drive back was a beautiful scenic route through the mountains complete with wild monkey sightings - something we would have never gotten to see on our own. We never felt rushed and he timed it perfectly so that we arrived back in Nakano right on schedule.
Having a day where someone else handled the transportation, planning, and communication was an amazing break in a hectic trip. Everything was beautiful and Shawn took so many amazing photos for us! It was truly one of our favorite days in Japan. Don't waste your time getting lost on public transport or sweating it out on a packed sightseeing bus, this experience is worth every penny. Thanks so much to Shawn for making it such a special day for us - we will definitely be booking again the next time we visit!
