Herculaneum was a small, rich and noble Italian city that overlooked the sea. High recommend! Book Paolo! I can't imagine having walked through Herculaneum without someone as knowledgeable as Paolo to iliuminate the complex life and stories within the walls of this site. We had been to Pompeii the day prior and honestly, I wish he had been our guide there as well. Our family had teens and adults, he was able to add on to our elementary understanding of the ruin, the way of life, the social structures of the time then and now in ways that made us so grateful we had come to it as well whenn in the region. It is clear he is a working scientists as well as a guide and could take us as deep as we wanted to go with geological questions, but also kept Herculaneum completely accessible and engaging to our youngest who was pretty tired that morning. Paolo was a clear and organized communicator, prompt and we are 100% happy to have toured with him. You won't regret time with Paolo. He loves archaeology, this region, and is excited to share it with you.

Ercolano is a unique place in the world and I thank Paolo Mondola so much for accompanying us on this wonderful tour. The mosaics, the charred remains of the wooden beams and the domus are suggestive. The guide was able to keep the curiosity of my son and niece alive. It was a dive into the wonders of the past and into habits and customs.

This tour was funny, interesting and historically accurate. Paolo was considerate remembering to stop in the shade when he was explaining things and asking if we had questions. He is an excellent guide.

This summer will be our third summer touring Pompeii, Herculaneum and other archeological sites with Paolo. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the Naples area he is also very kind and engaging. He is always happy to answer questions and always polite. My family and friends always enjoy our time with Paolo and can’t wait to see him again this summer!!!

My husband and I spent a day with Paolo visiting Herculaneum. The site is so amazing- I wasn’t really familiar with it because I had only learned about Pompeii. Herculaneum was beautiful and because Paolo is from Naples, he knew so much about the history of how the discovery was made of this site and how it has progressed as they uncover more relics. Paolo speaks English perfectly and is so friendly, yet very professional. We spent two days with Paolo, also going to Pompeii and I have recommended him to family and friends. He is the best!!
