Castle Valley is the poster child for Western landscapes, and you’ve probably already seen it somewhere in a John Wayne movie, TV show, or a commercial or two. And if somehow you have, in fact, never laid eyes on Castle Valley before, you’re not going forget it once you do!
This serene section of the Colorado River moseys through a big beautiful valley lined with monuments. Along the way are some of Utah’s most impressive geologic features like Fisher Towers, Castleton Tower, the Priest and Nuns, and more.
As for the waters here along the Colorado River, it stays pretty warm from late spring to early fall. You’ll spend most of your time floating, with a few Class II rapids to cool you off along the way. Expect plenty of fascinating interpretations and fun stories from your river guide on this mild trip!

We kayaked with our kids, 17 and 20. We all have a little experience, so it wasn't new to us, but we hadn't done a lot of river kayaking. IT WAS AMAZING!! There was plenty of relaxing float, and a few rapids to make it fun. The scenery was breath taking. The guides were knowledgeable, friendly and professional. If you read the material that they send out prior, it will go smoothly and be super fun! Definitely would do again. We didn't have a guide per se, as we were kayaking, but all the staff were great. Gavin has all the Dad jokes on lock down, gives interesting facts about scenery. Hannah did a great job with our safety brief and Ellen brought us back from the drop off. All of them were professional and fun!

Ashley was very knowledgeable about the area, the history, the and the geography. This is a very good way to enjoy the Colorado river while taking in beautiful scenery with a great guide. This would be a great experience for families with younger kids.

This was a great way to spend a half day. Our guide and paddler extraordinaire, Ashley, was knowledgeable about the area and the river. She accommodated some extra fun, but safety was always first. The bus ride to and from the put in point is a great chance to see some stunning scenery along the scenic highway 128.
We certainly got a bit wet through the rapids but they were overall pretty mild. There were 4 or 5 sections of rapids with leisurely float time in between.

Great fun and informative. Sean our guide told us lots about the history of the river and was an excellent navigator. Water fights on the river between rafts, rapids were fun but not frightening as Sean was always in control. Note, you will get wet!

We loved this half day adventure! My 9 and 12 year old sons asked if we could go back the next day. The rapids were great but they also just really dug swimming alongside the boat. It was a perfect combo of mellow beauty and fun adventure. Our guide Abby was awesome too!

Amazing time with the Mild to Wild gang. Chelsea was great guiding us in the boat (we did a half day trip with our 3 kids, 8, 11 and 12 years old). Good time, super safe through the rapids and the kids loved it. Chelsea was super informative, great insights on the area, Colorado River, spotting the celebrity hideouts and the bald eagles! Great company, great time. Go see’em!

This was my first river rafting trip and the Mild to Wild crew made it a great experience. Shawn was a great tour guide who made sure we were safe and shared lots of fun facts along the way.

Trip was a last minute decision and definitely worth it. My kids are 5,8 and 14, they had a great time and was enough adventure for all of them without being too much for my youngest. The guides were amazing and very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. Will definitely go back next time we are in the area!
