Started out with a good driver who pointed out many interesting info on our drive out of Santiago. First stop was the ski lodge over looking Inca Lake, very picturesque and good empanadas! Next we left the main road and headed up a four wheel drive track up to the border of Chile and Argentina. Many hairpin turns and fabulous viewpoints to the top of the frontier at Christo Redentor. Headed down the Argentina side to view Acongua, highest mountain in the Americas. Stunning! Had a great Argentinian lunch, last stop to view the Inca Bridge before the long drive back to Santiago. A full and very fun day.

04/01/24. I, my companion, were climbing a narrow dirt road, with our guide Jaime, to whom we are very grateful for his attention and kindness. Only one vehicle passed through this road at a time. A fantastic view of the horizon close to us. We were climbing a mountain. One from the Andes Mountains. Around us, others, with snow-capped peaks, seemed to form a beautiful but real picture. The destination was to reach Christ the Redeemer of Los Andes, 4000 meters above sea level. a monument that stands on the border between Chile and Argentina and located on top of one of the mountains that form the large rocky chain. Up there, the wind seemed to carry us and its intensity mixed with our happiness at being there, at contemplating that scene and being sure that it was one of the best moments of our trip. I confess that on the way up I experienced the biggest adrenaline rush of my life! And it was all worth it to see Christ the Redeemer.

For sheer thrills and a journey high up in the Andes I would certainly recommend this tour. Starting with a snaking road up in the mountains, to the Portillo ski resort and Laguna del Inca, you can feel how far away you are going into another world.

The Christ the Redeemer of the Andes area, at 12,500 feet above sea level, was intense! Lunch in Argentina afterwards was relaxing, and the guide did a great job of stopping at vantage points and explaining the surroundings. One of the highlights was seeing a herd of ~12 wild guanacas on the side of a mountain!

The vehicle (a Dodge Durango) was comfortable and the customer service was top notch (thank you Ignacio and Javier!). It was a truly unforgettable experience.

We are privileged to have travelled quite extensively and have done countless tours. This one definitely rates as one of the very best!
The drive up into the mountains is great. Inca Lagoon is beautiful. With it being a jeep we were able to go up the dirt road to the monument Christ Redeemer of the Andes. It’s special being this high up in the Andes with the monument marking the border between Chile and Argentina. The panoramic view across the Andes from here is truly spectacular.
Then down the Argentinian side for a lovely meal in a restaurant in Las Cuevas. Then the Inca Bridge and, finally, a viewpoint over to Cerro Aconcagua (the highest point in America).
Ignacio was the perfect guide. Friendly, knowledgeable, responsive and professional.
We would highly recommend this tour without hesitation!
