Come aboard The USS Yorktown and hear the stories of the American Heroes who lived, died, and are still rumored to be here today. Commissioned in 1943, the “Fighting Lady” was once manned by over 3,000 people and designed to fight off enemies all over the globe during WWII. You will hear stories of their ultimate sacrifice and heroism as the people that once inhabited this ship dedicated their lives to the service of our country and to this great ship. This tour gives you exclusive night time access to areas of the ship that are closed to the public, including access to the flight deck after dark.
Highlights may include:
-Maritime Superstitions
-Unusual Ship Christening
-Captain Jocko Clark
-Smokey Stover
-Mysterious Sailor Disappearance

This was a great tour and Ken, our tour guide was very informative. The only downfall was that there was only one room with air conditioning so it was extremely hot. I think the location needs to install air conditioning throughout the ship or in more rooms.

This was our first experience of touring a carrier. It was a great experience and the volunteers were always available to answer questions. The elevator was a great asset to allow us to access a couple of the different levels. Well worth the experience.

This is only regarding the USS Yorktown in Charleston. The vessel is in excellent shape and the self guided tour is easy to follow with many interesting facts and history to learn about. A host of Veterans are on board to assist and answer questions. Easy parking and access

Very cool experience! Great stories by the guide- would love to have seen some ghosts!
We were able to explore the ship without any crowds and go into places that you are not usually able to go into- involves ladders and walking. Not recommended for people who are not able to do lots of walking.

Our tour guide was great! He gave us lots of information and we didn’t feel rushed. I wouldn’t call this a ghost tour though there was some mention of death on the ship it was more of a great private tour of the ship but either way my husband and I had a great time!
