We weren’t sure how we were going to get to Calakmul, which we really wanted to go to but weren’t sure about staying overnight in Xpujil given the length of our trip. Luckily, we found Carlos, who picked us up from our hotel in Bacalar and we made the long but pleasant journey there in an air-conditioned van. The site itself is incredible and there was a good mix of explanatory guiding as well as time to explore the temples. An unexpected bonus was the wildlife: we saw wild turkeys, spider monkeys, and a tapir. Carlos also went the extra mile and returned my hat to my hotel after I forgot it in the van on the way back! Highly recommend this trip if you’re staying in Bacalar or nearby.

The Calakmul tour was great! The ruins are incredibly beautiful, the park was very calm, and Carlos’s explanations were very clear and fun. It was cool to learn more about the Mayan culture while discovering this beautiful place surrounded by jungle.
I really recommend this tour to anyone interested in nature and history.

Thanks to Carlos I realized my dream of visiting Calakmul. We would never have done it alone. They are carrying out work on the construction of the Maya train and are devastating the roads, making travel very difficult if you don't know the route and they have also changed the opening times and days of the site. Furthermore, thanks to Carlos I was able to learn things about the Mayans, habits and customs, and what the various Mayan sites looked like in the past, things that have never been told to me on other tours. Carlos is a very kind person, very helpful and very knowledgeable as well as being very nice. We recommend his tour to make the experience unique in a spectacular place. It's worth it!

Carlos took us to Calakmul from Bacalar. We had an amazing day. He really took the time for us, even when the roads were terrible that day with a lot of construction work going on. We were very happy to join and also had some really nice conversations and extra info about Mexican culture.

We went with Carlos to the ruins of Calakmul from Bacalar. The journey was long due to the construction of the Mayan train, but it was worth it all to see the wonderful ruins of Calakmul. Carlos, very correct, gave us very interesting information about the place and the Mayans, the car tour was also entertaining talking with Carlos and listening to music. It must also be said that I felt safe because he is a good driver.
