This was one of the highlights from our trip to Amalfi. Valentino was the consummate host, the farm was quintessential Italy and the things we learned from the cooking class will be put to great use. We also met so many wonderful people from all over the world. You definitely need to do this when visiting the Amalfi area.

We had a wonderfully authentic experience of learning how to make a variety of dishes with an Italian family on their farm/hotel/restaurant.

Valentino was very understanding about us being a little late and his main concern was that we were relaxed and served us coffee and water.

We started with making tiramisu, then made mozzarella balls with mozzarella made with milk taken from the cow less than one day ago! We finally made two different types of pasta - ravioli and fettuccine. They allowed us to be involved in all parts of the process and explained everything clearly and with humour and character. They also answered all our questions on the ingredients and the preparation process. The best part was Giovanni, our 13 year old teacher, who made the experience even more special. There was no pre-made schedule and they adapted to the people in the class (us and another couple), even making us limoncello spritz when we took a break.

After serving us the prepared meals made with the pasta and mozzarella that we had made, they showed us around their farm where we saw the cow, pigs and other animals and got a chance to ask more questions. They also showed us a fantastic view of amalfi from the farm.

All in all, it was one of the highlights of our trip and we are grateful to see and learn about some part of the Italian culture and cuisine.

Valentino was an incredibly generous host and very passionate about what he does. I learned every aspect of how pasta is made and he was very patient and informative throughout the entire process. I spent 3-week in Italy and the pasta I made with Valentino that day was the best I ever tasted. I would highly recommend this class to anyone traveling in the area.
