Definitively the worst customer service I ever experienced, I purchased by mistake the tickets for wrong dates and they are not able for apparently no reason to change them (they have the same exact price, just different dates). Lost 100€ just for a booking mistake.

Definitely useful card if you spend at least three days in Berlin and intend to visit museums and attractions. Public transport included (with the possibility of purchasing the option for zones A, B and C which also allows you to use the train from the airport and the one to Potsdam). Prices only apparently expensive. I recommend it

Waste of money - the discounts are extremely hard to get/make use of. 9 out of 10 can be completely forgotten!

Links to their collaboration partners - museums etc. before usually just returning to their own website. Grotesque!

Not recommended - buy a general BVG ticket which is valid for several days. Costs approx. 15 Euro less - but without discount options, which cannot be used anyway.

The first and last time we buy the Berlin Welcome Card it's a certainty.

You have to do the math and plan ahead. Some things are much cheaper as a family, for example with a family rate. And HopOnHopOff would have been much cheaper without the card. What is really unnecessary, however, is that some providers require you to bring printouts with you. And this in the digital age. The telephone advice was very unfriendly. The website is confusing and sometimes complicated if you want to book different things. It's not always worth it!!!

At first you need to print the card - who uses print these days. Furthermore they write that you have to be careful when walking with the print because the QR code can get unreadable - what :-( ????

Furthermore I only received one of two cards by e-mail - when they wanted to correct the mistake I got three hours less then my wife because they gave me a 48 hours card and not a 72 hours card.

They state in the website that you will mostly get a 25% discount - that is nearly only for adults and not kids.

Not that many sites are included - the Berlin Zoo is not included and that must be one of the most popular ones.

I bought the Berlin Classic Welcome Card for 48 hours (30 euros).

The first negative point is that the discounts are not a bargain nor do they include most of the important monuments.
In my case, doing the math it turned out to be more or less profitable since in Berlin in November you have to take public transportation due to the cold and rain; We also had a plan to visit the Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam and another monument included... but most of the discounts apply to non-essential activities and monuments.

The second negative point is the terrible customer service in card management, with the consequent loss of time. One of the main incentives for purchasing it was saving time by buying a ticket for everything at once. But you end up paying for it... with more time.

Purchasing is very easy online, but once you have spent the money, things get complicated. Online management is over and to activate it (or if you have any problem) you must go to an office to print it...Surprise! This was not advertised with great fanfare on the web. Manage to get to the office amidst bad answers! They should include this odyssey in the card experiences (this one is free).
It is striking that there is no application or digital facility for this part (but there is for the purchase).

The third negative point is the lack of real information on the website itself.
Once you have clicked, you review what brought you to that point and on their website you only see a hodgepodge of discounts (sometimes outdated) and a lack of real information about the price at which the discount is given... And you understand that so many people complain, because it is true that we do not look at the fine print, but let's see who reads it when they have just enough time to organize a trip and see the essentials (and they know it).

The only case in which I would recommend using this card would be to someone who is very clear (but very clear) about what monuments they are going to visit, how many, with how many people, what day, what hour and even minute (sometimes you have to reserve it, curiously in the monument website), check that it doesn't already have other discounts so as not to make a mistake..., take out a calculator and read the fine print a lot, contrasting each price and discount. These people also exist and out of deference to them I will not say that the card is useless.

In short: I have managed to save one euro. But hey, something is something and I'll take the experience with me.

Really worth your money. Some advice: The activation starts with your first transportation. But many sites do not check the activation. If you are not taking transports on the first day, you can still visit something and get benefit though it is not activated. We took the independent Museum pass and we think it is a better deal than taking the welcome card with museum if you stay more than 3 days. If you stay say 5 days, you can choose which 3 days you will visit museums, while the welcome card with museum forces you to visit museum the first 3 days.

DO NOT BUY IN ADVANCE
Bought two Berlin WelcomeCard tickets in advance (just to be safe) to use in mid-January, but sadly my friend and I didn’t notice that the cards expire at the end of the year (we bought them at the end of December). We asked if we could exchange or extend the tickets for ones we can use in January since our trip is only 3 weeks away, but when calling to customer service the phone never gets picked up. The email response we got was also very short, rigid, business-like and in my opinion lacked some empathy. No refunds or exchanges possible, not under any circumstances. Selling the tickets also proved impossible because we only had a week to sell them. Lost 85 euros for tickets that can’t be used. Then lost 85 euros again because we had to buy them again a week later :) Guess it’s our own fault for not paying enough attention to the terms and conditions. All in all a bad experience. If you don’t have lots of money to spare this is not a situation you want to be in so beware. Sadly we didn’t see @Grecophile99 his review earlier.

WARNING: welcome cards expire on 31/12 of the year you buy them.
We paid €105 for 2 tickets and they will NOT extend or refund these even though the flights were cancelled, as they are travel tickets and exempt from statutory refunds.

Whatever you do -DO NOT buy these tickets in advance as you'll lose ALL of your money if for any reason (in your control or not, covid related or not) if you can't then go.
It really wouldn't have cost Berlin welcome card a cent to extend them for a few months so we could re-arrange our travel, but No, it was a straight NO REFUND, NO TRANSFER but thanks for the cash. That sucks.
