The VO taxi And the Marano and Burano visits were the best part of the trip. The Doge’s Palace And Saint Marks basilica were way too crowded and hot to be enjoyable.

We got super lucky on the morning part of the tour and only had one other couple with us. Our morning guide and tour was great also! Boat ride to Murano and Burano was perfect. Islands were great and we had plenty of time to explore, especially in Burano… could’ve used more in Murano, but I feel like we were lucky to get more time than most at the glass blowing demo. So that’s probably why.
Afternoon tour was great and informative too. More people on the afternoon tour, but still less than 15 people. The gondola ride was nice too!!!

It's a long day but you cover a lot. Once we reached Murano they told us the lagoon was rough and they would combine us with another tour. Tge water conditions were fine and we went from a beautiful smaller boat to a large old boat that we could nit see out of. The guides were very knowledgeable. It's actually two part day tours combined so you get a lunch break and new guide in afternoon. Skip the cookies and lace in Burano and see the town. Murano glass tour was great. Cathedral and palace tour also very good. Doges seemed a bit long.

Vanya and Arianna were great guides. They gave us enough time to explore. Sure you can explore Venice by yourself but it’s the tour guides that makes you see the place in a different perspective. The tour was 2 part - Murano and Burano in the morning and the St Marks, the Doge’s Palace and gondola in the afternoon. It was a great way to see Venice in a day.

This tour was very worthwhile. The visit to the Basilica and Doge’s Palace was fascinating. Marco was an excellent guide to both places. The gondola ride was fun and just long enough.
The afternoon is spent visiting Murano and Burano, two islands about a 4-mile boat ride from Venice. Murano is a traditional center of glass making. The demonstration of this art was truly impressive. Afterwards you can see various beautiful pieces of glass that the artists of Murano have made over the years. (You can also buy them for stratospheric prices.)
Then comes Burano, a very picturesque center of lace making. The “lace making demonstration” is really just a short talk about different types of lace while you can watch a woman making lace. You can buy lace, of course, but mostly the island is a beautiful place to walk around and eat gelato.

Couple of suggestions....Maybe a little more time is needed at lunch, less time at Murano and more time and Burano (switch the times at the island stops). But I really feel like I got to see and do so much in the day.

My husband and I booked this tour despite having 3 days in Venice because we figured if we saw all the highlights in one long day, we could spend the other two days exploring on our own. The tour itself was fantastic - I was really nervous about how long the day was going to be, and also read reviews that some people liked one guide more than the other. I will say - both of our guides were fantastic, and our groups were very reasonably sized. I unfortunately don't remember their names - Doge's Palace/St Marks was a blonde, spunky native Venetian woman who was absolutely delightful and engaging, and they were both absolutely jaw-droppingly beautiful and interesting. Second part (Murano/Burano) was a really enthusiastic and peppy woman who is originally from Burano and she really kept our energy going in the second half of the day. This has nothing to do with the tour, but to be honest although Murano and Burano were interesting and lovely, I don't feel that strongly that I would have missed out on a lot had I not seen them. Murano on this tour is really just watching a glass blowing demonstration (which, I admit, is mind boggling), and then walking through a gallery and store. Burano you watch lace making and then get some free time. It's very pretty. To me the funnest part of this part of the tour was looking at all the islands around Venice from the boat. Our guide did a great job explaining about each island, and it made me kind of understand the landscape of greater Venice and its islands better. If you have the tenacity, I highly recommend this tour. If you have to choose or are short on time, I would not miss Doge's Palace/St. Mark's and then explore Venice beyond the main square, which was probably my favorite part!
