Booked the tour through the hotel Nexus Tour representative. Cost: 180USD + 10USD transport fee. Altogether poor experience and I would not do it again. We did not go to the beach because of heavy rain the weeks prior - this was communicated after arriving on site but prior to commencing the tour (incl. the possibility of a refund), which was not optimal but fair. Buggy trip starts with approx 15-20min going on various roads and tracks - nothing exciting but good to get acquainted with the machine, which was in OK condition. This is followed by what I call a marketing stop. First, you sit through a little show of different flavors and scents, then you have to walk through a shopping area where people try to sell you stuff. The shopping area also has a pool, which they call Cenote (looked nice but clearly was not natural). The "experience" ends with a longer buggy trip. Again, nothing exciting and about 30% just paved roads. Some wet spots on the way can get you dirty.

If you want an adventure, do not bother to go. Expect the merchandise to be at least double the price of what you pay e.g., in the resort.

Don’t waste your money on this tour. We took it today, there was no beach visit although it was promised. We went to a shopping center which was wayyy overpriced. I made a mistake buying mamajuana there and later saw that it was one third of the price in the hotel. The tour should have had a cenote visit as well, but it was only a dip into a fake cenote in that shopping center. Buggies were okayish but not working properly: brake was not functioning well, door kept opening on the way…

So save your money, find another tour. And if you do take this tour, don’t buy anything there. Shop in the hotel.

We did 2 excursions, the first was Funko Park (buggys+ horses+ zip line+ the cave pool) all excellent, the food from the hot buffet, the guides were equally excellent.

The second was Soana Island with the catamaran, everything was perfect, the hotel kept us breakfast, the large two-story catamaran, on the island the buffet varied hot food, the speed boats, our guide Juan, a man who explained all the Dominican culture to us, was very good.

Without a doubt, we would repeat perfect excursions without a doubt, assisting you with Cristian from Nexus.

I had a wonderful time during my FAM trip using Nexus team during our FAM Travel ent trip in Punta Cana. German was a great tour contact and was ble to provide timely feedback of transportation, and tips on what to bring. I had an additional tour I purchased personally to try to have un doing dune buggy for 4 hours. German was informative in giving options and his attention to service is amazing! I will definitely use them gain in many diff destinations!

Very fun excursion that was recommended by the Nexus Tour representative (Awilda) in our Punta Cana resort. The buggy ride is on a dusty trail so goggles would’ve probably been better than the sunglasses I wore. I wear contacts and had to blink like a madman to clear my eyes of dust as I rode through certain extra dusty terrain. Bandanas or other face coverings are essential as well. They sell at ATV venue but Awilda arranged for a vendor to bring bandanas to us on our resort so we were prepared ahead of time. We rode to a market place that had an artificial waterfall/cave. Then we rode to a beach (Macao) where locals offered pictures with their animals (lizards, monkeys, parrots). They expect tips/collect a fee. So before allowing them to place their animal on you, make sure you know their expectations. The monkey guy caught me off guard asking for $30. I was able to argue him down to $20 for not letting me know in advance. The ATV company had photographers who captured us throughout our excursion. I decided to purchase their pictures and they AirDropped them to my iPhone. When I went back to my resort, unfortunately I damaged my phone in the lazy river and lost all of these pictures. I went to Apple once back in the US but was told they could not connect to my phone and all data/files were lost unless backed up on iCloud (they weren’t). It was so frustrating. I decided to contact Awilda to ask if there was a way to contact the venue and possibly get another copy of pictures somehow. Long story short, it took her one day to get me a contact number and I was able to get the pictures emailed to me. She was always great on the resort always sweet and smiling when we saw her. She had given us her WhatsApp contact info to communicate with her as needed for the reserved excursion and even for our private airport transfer needs. Having her info is what saved our vacation pictures. I appreciate her very much!

What a waste of money, the machine a run down and ready to fall apart. 3 machine broke down during the trip and some were hardly drivable. This trip is not about your pleasure it’s how much stuff they can get you to buy.

This was a great tour for adventure and an authentic look at Dominican culture and people. Be aware that it is muddy! And they don’t provide lockers. There are lots of “opportunities” to buy from locals (coffee, cocoa, souvenirs, food/drinks, etc). Go in with an open mind and have fun!!
