This was a highlight of the trip. It was great for everyone (9 year old to 46 year old). The guides are so passionate about traditional Venetian boats and it was really interactive yet not physically hard especially given the heat.

This experience was a highlight of our trip to Venice and had been gifted to us. Not only did we get an intimate experience on the narrow canals, it is a way to learn how to row like the gondoliers. Emilio explained about their business of restoring boats and Stefano gave my husband the opportunity to row for the better part of our time on the water. This was a unique, interesting and enjoyable experience and highly recommend it.

Stephano was great. Our experience with 'Venice Onboard' exceed our expectations. My wife and I did not just learn how to row a gondola but also the history and lifestyle of the Venician in a world of water. It was one our best adventures we had during our week in Venice.

Booked a couple of weeks in advance via email; we were greeted warmly by Emilio on arrival who not only taught us how to row the Venetian way and let us loose to row one of their boats, but also explained many things and answered our endless questions; beautiful tranquil surroundings, no pressure, just a lovely hour and a half - would definitely recommend - much better value than going on a regular gondola!

This was the highlight of our trip to Venice. Our instructor/ guide was very personable and explained the history and significance of gondolas to the city. Learning to row these unique boats was so much better than just getting a ride. This was a memorable experience, I highly recommend this specific company- they’re dedicated to restoring historic boats and preserving their culture.

Venice on board is a therapeutic experience that puts you at peace with yourself. Rowing along the canals of Cannaregio with the suggestions of Nicola Emiliano and Stefano is simply fantastic.

Not many people can claim they have actually rowed a boat on Venice canals. What an incredible experience. Stefano was an awesome teacher!! He taught us so much more about the history & art of rowing in these canals. Instead of paying for the overpriced tourist trap ride with gondoliers, we would highly recommend this lifetime experience..
