Explore Venice’s Teatro La Fenice on a 1-hour walking tour and discover its history, architecture and decadent décor! Translating as ‘the phoenix’ in Italian, La Fenice has mirrored the mythical bird by rising from the ashes of two fires over the course of its history. Now restored to its 18th-century glory, the famous opera house boasts a jaw-dropping interior that has to be seen to be believed. Walk around the plush auditorium and royal box, and hear the history of this iconic Italian opera venue from a local guide.

Excellent tour - Vanda was an excellent guide and spoke clear and articulate English - well worth the time.

The tour guide never showed, and from reading the reviews this happens often. I and a separate couple arrived early and waiting for 30 minutes past the start time. I had been message the tour provide in the app and never got a response. Myself and the couple decided to go find the office to ask what happened. They gave a response that there must be rehearsals going on...which doesn't make any sense.
We got no communication that the tour wouldn't be happening and they definitely were not sorry this happened to us. Looking at the other reviews, I guess this is how they do business.

Nicole our guide was fabulous. So knowledgeable and went at an easy pace. The building is spectacular absolutely recommend. Need to return when there is a performance on. Great activity and not full of tourists in a rush.

Only a short tour, but very interesting to hear the history of the multiple fires and reconstructions of the building.

We had booked a French guide. We had an English guide. We had to settle for an audio guide.

I am currently living in Venice, and what I have to say is that one should at least once in their lifetime visit La Fenice.
The famous "La Traviata" was being performed, such a talented crew. I was amazed by the whole thing. I would like to highlight the fact that the staff was very professional and beyond helpful.

The tour did not exist...the opera house is not even open at 1pm apparently. The unhelpful woman at the Fenice told me to go to the operator's office which I could not find despite speaking Italian and asking various (helpful) locals. I was gutted...it was a dream of mine to see inside and the opera house itself does not appear to run tours. So basically it was a scam.

I had heard about Teatro La Fenice for years from a family member. I had also read about the theater in Death at La Fenice murder mystery. And I’ve seen many other grand stages around the world. Nothing prepared me for the grandeur of this magnificent site. Our guide seemed to know every nook and cranny, every piece of history and every story regarding the theater and shared all passionately with us all.
