On this tour, we'll explore a mix of traditional businesses and the ones that are writing that story today, while we discover the real Barcelona through its food.

In between delicous food stops explore the Born neighborhood. One of Barcelona's most iconic, we know it's on your list to visit anyway—best to do it with an expert. Your guide will share our favorite neighborhood haunts and stories with you.

Start your morning at the Santa Caterina Market, a local favorite where the stalls have been family-run institutions for decades! You’ll weave in and out of locals doing their shopping as you learn about their daily customs and traditions.

While in the market stop to sample a variety of local Spanish cheese.

Then, of course, try some local cured meats—including jamón ibérico!

We'll head to one of the market's most-loved bars. Open since the 1980s, this is where locals stop for breakfast and lunch while shopping—and that's exactly what we're here to do! You'll enjoy a glass of sparkling cava (the true Catalan way to start the day!) paired with next-level sandwiches featuring treats such as spinach tortilla and spicy Mallorcan sausage.

Pass through one of the Born neighborhood's iconic historic squares.

We'll visit one of Barcelona's most loved bakeries to try their surprising speciality -- a delicious filled croissant!

Our next food stop is one of Barcelona’s oldest specialty shops—one of the last of its kind, in fact! Here you’ll taste a variety of the shop’s star products.

As you are exploring the Born neighbourhood stop see this Catalan Gothic church.

Explore Barcelona's famous fisherman's neighbourhood where your guide will highlight some of the neighborhood's most interesting corners.

Pass through one of Barceloneta's local squares.

After a morning of exploring (and tasting your way through!) the Born neighborhood, it’s time to head towards the fishermen’s district of Barceloneta! At our first Barceloneta stop, it’s time to practice the art of the Spanish aperitif! We'll visit a local bodega for a glass of vermouth and Barcelona's favorite tapa: the bomba. Considered by locals to be the only tapa ever invented in Barcelona, we'll share its colorful story with you.
13.
At our last stop, we'll finish strong with a traditional Spanish lunch! You’ll visit a tucked-away restaurant in the fishermen’s district that's been open since the 1950s. Here we'll enjoy some of the best homemade seafood paella in town, paired with fantastic local wine!

An amazing food tour focusing on the local cuisine of Barcelona. Our guide Hector was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We tasted olives, cheeses, dried meats, pastries, nougat, a "bomba," and seafood paella. One of the best food tours we've done!

We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour! Hector was outstanding, very knowledgeable and organized. We learned about the foods and beverages of Barcelona. The Bomba and vermouth were yummy. Stop searching and just book it!

Hector was knowledgeable and provided good insight into the nuances of Born. The food was complimemtary to how we worked around the streets. Definitely worth doing if you enjoy food and at the same time being illuminated by new subject matter.

What a great tour with Jordi! He was incredibly knowledgeable about not only the food but also the food history of Spain. He was friendly, pleasant and engaged. We started in a traditional market and then visited several family-owned shops and restaurants. Absolutely the best way to get an overview of a new city.

Ariana was absolutely amazing! Our first time in Spain and she brought Barcelona to life through the food and the history she shared! Completely recommend any tour with her!! Our entire family ages 18-49 enjoyed our experience.

Ariana was an incredible guide! Extremely informative, clearly passionate about food, and was very attentive to everyone in the group. Even after nearly a week, I can clearly recall almost all of the anecdotes she mentioned throughout the trip. The tour itself was well-paced.

Mick, our guide, was very welcoming when we found him stood, as described when booking, with his red Devour Tours bag outside Santa Caterina Market. We met the rest of our group, Mick introduced himself and his background, and off we went round the market to try some local delicacies. The pace was chilled, Mick was very knowledgable and full of helpful hints and tips with regards to dining out in Barcelona.

The weather was rainy- be advised to take an umbrella if the weather isn’t great! However, Mick adapted the tour so we could eat our bakery goodies in the beautiful old Estació de França.

The tour included plenty to eat and portions were enough to try without being overfaced or stingy- don’t eat breakfast before you go! The drinks were delicious, and catered for those who didn’t drink. Mick was very attentive to those on our tour who had dietary requirements too. The tour covered some history, as well as food history and customs.

Overall we had an enjoyable few hours, the tour was great value for money and we would recommend Devour Tours to everyone visiting Barcelona be it for the first time or the tenth! The restaurant recommendations sent out at the end were very helpful and had it not been our last day, we would have tried to visit a few of them- it only means we need to visit Barcelona again!

Ariana was wonderful and very informative. We traveled with our kids (ages 6 and 9) and they very much liked tasting all that the market and city had to offer. Definitely a highlight for both the grown-ups and kids alike.
