Be immersed in the Peranakan culture by spending a weekend at the Straits Enclave @ Joo Chiat heritage district. Led by our experience Peranakan beading expert, this workshop will be bursting with history, culture, stories and artefacts in the Peranakan Chinese Private Museum.
Understanding The Peranakan Culture: Once you step into the Straits Enclave, it is like taking a step back in time into a different time dimension – 100 years back into a 1920s Peranakan home when these architecturally stunning shophouses were constructed in Joo Chiat. Guests are welcomed by a captivating ambience, followed by a feast for their eyes where they will be tickled with stories behind them. We will share the Peranakan culture and interesting stories as a Peranakan staying in the Joo Chiat district.
