Great instructors to support and teach you. You get to shoot approx. 4 times if you've got four people in at once. A very cool experience!

We have a bit of archery background but the Japanese Archery was very interesting to learn as it deals with having 2 arrows instead of 1, as well as the philosophy behind it. Sensei was very patient with our new learning experience and it was fun to learn. The hour went by fast even though it was just the 2 of us! We enjoyed ourselves and would love to practice more if it was available locally. They did let us know where in Canada we can go to (alas it wasn't where we were!). Highly recommend and our translator and his student was so helpful. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

We brought 12 and 13 year old to try kyudo. The building was fairly easy to find given the giant bullseye on the two sides facing streets. The instructor was incredibly patient, his translator/student equally so! The kids were given a booklet to read, the thumb guards and for my daughter a chest guard. He demonstrated the steps to take before even putting an arrow to string. They got three tries with two arrows each with 3 total guests. The kids as well as the adult dropped the arrow multiple times and he adjusted their stance and hold multiple times all with patience and calm. Breathing and relaxation were a big part of kyudo. So glad we came!

Instructor was highly knowledgeable and the experience really gave you a direct experience of the skill involved in Japanese archery. And I will always remember “body action!”

I highly recommend this experience. The instructor and translator are great teachers. There are a lot of steps for Kyudo, but they help you learn them all within an hour. This isn’t the typical tourist attraction; your group will be alone in a quaint indoor range. It’s a really fun time, especially with a small group!

The instructor really sells this experience. He was did not speak English, but there was an outstanding apprentice who translated for him in real time with a lot of skill. He was very good natured and an excellent mentor, providing clear instructions and advice, all with a lot of patience. You can trust me, I’m the kind of guy who needs it.

Finding the place was no trouble, there are some conspicuous bullseyes on the building. You start out with an easier bow, and he’ll let you progress to more powerful ones if you’ve got the form/strength for it. There was a deliberate, meditative quality to the experience that I found thoroughly appealing. At the end he handed out a short sheet of his personal philosophy on archery which was an insightful and interesting read.

Overall, an awesome experience that was both fun and a bit thoughtful, if you choose to approach it that way.

An interesting experience, well taught. The instructor didn’t speak English but there was a young lady to give instructions.
There were 4 present including me which was enough as we got to shoot 5 arrows each. Any more and the value would have gone down.
I was the only archer in the group but even novices picked it up. The instructor was very hands on as in moving your shoulders etc into the correct position which was probably necessary but something some people might not like.

Definitely an experience worth doing and great value for honestly not much money.

Excellent experience! Had a very authentic feeling. Instructor could only speak Japanese, but was still excellent instruction on details of technique.
