The excursion starts early in the morning at your Hotel, we start on the south coast, visiting Vila Franca do Campo and its Historic center, we go up to the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Paz (built in 1764) where you can see a panoramic view over the village, in this locality you can find the famous Queijadas of the village. we continue south towards the magnificent village of Furnas where you can visit and bathe in the lush thermal waters.
We continue to Lagoa das Furnas where we will visit Lagoa, a place surrounded by fumaroles and boilers. A magical place is in this same place that we will see the famous Cozido, which is found in holes of about one meter, after having lunch and then visiting the Boilers and mineral waters where you can taste each one. The return route is made by the North, visiting the peak of the iron where you can see a view of the lagoon and the furnas at an altitude of 600m, then we stop at Fabrica do Chá, tasting the magnificent São Miguel tea.

This was a wonderful experience. It is called a tour of Furnas, but this was so much more than expected. We saw Furnas, with its geysers, hot springs, and botanical gardens, but that was not all. Our guide took us to small villages, beautiful beaches, a tea plantation and other fascinating sites and gave us insight on the culture and life in Sao Miguel. This tour included a traditional lunch at a small out of the way restaurant to make the experience complete. Our guide was knowledgeable and enjoyable to spend the day with. I highly recommend this adventure!

Thank you Denis! We had a very enjoyable, informative day out with Denis, with 4 of us in a private tour. He collected us promptly as arranged, organised our lunch at a restaurant in Furnas, took us to the hot bathing springs and even took us on a detour to his home town. Denis is full of knowledge of the island and it made the trip even more interesting as we got to know more about the culture and customs of Sao Miguel. It was great to have the flexibility and personalisation of a private tour as well as being reasonably priced

We did the half day tour and it was amazing. Denis, our tour guide was fantastic, friendly, funny, and very professional. Very knowledgeable about the island's history.
I will definitely recommend Denis if you want to know unforgettable places and have great time.

It was such a fun to explore the island with such an amazing team. Specially the owner Denis is so much fun to be with and he entertains you and keeps you engaged during the entire trip . Dennis was an incredible host!!! Very friendly, funny, helpful, knowledgeable about the island and culture, and very accommodating. He made you feel like a friend. Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour with "Mr. Dennis". Going forward he'll always be our go to for tours when staying in Sao Miguel. Price was very fair and average for the experience. Denis is a wonderful host. We toured a half day including Lagoa Sete Cidades, and the Pineapple Plantation. We learned so much about the island. Denis was very caring, accommodating, and helpful with my sister, who has issues with mobility. The next day, Tiago was our host, and we toured Furnas, the Fumaroles, Nordeste, and other towns along the Eastern side of the island. Tiago was also very caring and helpful with my sister. Denis had remembered to ask Tiago to take us to get wonderful Queijadas da Vila Franco do Campo. My first trip to Sao Miguel was 23 years ago. This was my second trip to Sao Miguel. I highly recommend a private tour. There is so much to see, and both Denis and Tiago are so knowledgeable about their island. It truly is a special place. I will visit again...soon!

Denis is very knowledgable and friendly! Me and my wife had a great time going to Furnas and many other places in the eastern part of Sao Miguel. He knew all the gems and had a good story or interesting facts for all the places we went and many other things about the Azores in general. We can definitely recommend his tour to east Sao Miguel and there is no doubt that the other tours are just as good!

My wife and I had a wonderful day trip with Denis in which we visited most of the main viewpoints of Sao Miguel. From the very begining, it's clear that he knows the island like the back of his hand; he took us to one of few quiet hotsprings near caldera velha and showed us spectacular sights which seemed to be off the beaten track. He also drove all the way from Ponta Delgada to pick us up in Furnas.
If you want to avoid the crowds and are only spending a few days in Sao Miguel, Denis is your man.
