Joanne gave us a half-day+ tour of regional hot spots in mid-April 2024. She was an excellent guide and not only found the birds that we hoped for but provided interesting background on the cape region - its demographics, culture, and economy. Even if you're just a casual birder, I'd highly recommend that you make an outing with Birding Los Cabos part of your trip to the cape.

What an excellent experience. Joanne, our guide knew exactly where to go in the estuary. She was an excellent birder and a lovely person. 44 birds and 14 lifers! Don’t hesitate to book this tour if you love to bird watch.

Maury was an excellent guide and was good company. Very informative about plants, geology, etc. At least the day we went the temperatures were not very hot and there was a constant breeze. Maury provided water, snacks, and took us to an (included) restaurant lunch. Swimming in the desert was a rare treat! Highly recommend!

We did a full day of birding with our guide Joanne touring Los Cabos and La Paz. It was a great day with stops for breakfast and lunch. We enjoyed spending time with our guide Joanne who was very fun and knowledgeable - we ended up seeing close to 60 species, a couple rare birds and 3 endemics - great day!

During our week stay in San Jose del Cabo, we enjoyed 3 outstanding tours with Birding Los Cabos and our excellent guide, Maria Elena. The first tour was to a local scrub/desert area followed by the San Jose Estuary which was teeming with wetland birds as well as many scrub and forest birds and several endemics. Our second tour 1/2 day was out into the Pacific by boat to see offshore pelagic birds and several birds along the shore. Finally, a full day to the Sierra La Laguna Mountains to see several species you won't find anywhere else. Maria Elena is professional, pleasant, and very knowledgeable, not just about the birds, but also about the history and the culture of the Baja Sur area. The tours include meals at local restaurants to savor the local cuisine and meet the people. Overall, an excellent operation and should not be missed by any birders visiting the Los Cabos area.

We had a great morning trip with Maria Elena, finding 3 endemics and many other species. We visited open country, largely farmland, outside of Todos Santos, plus very briefly the estuary in San Jose del Cabo. Maria Elena knew the birds and the habitat. She used bird song recordings to attract the species we sought. She explained in detail the natural and the cultural history of the area, giving context to what we saw. She also offered perhaps too much info on herself and her operation so that the answers to many of our questions involved the suggestion that we take more of her tours, which are pricey.

Thanks to our guide we saw over 50 different kinds of birds and learned alot about the area. The estuary area should not only be a national park as it is currently designated but will also be designated as a bird sanctuary.
