All in all very good the guy in the glassboat was cranky for no reason thats why its only 4. But the snorkling equipments were intact, easy to obtain, the island is beautiful.

A Cairns local, had not been back to Green island for a while, and took some overseas Visitors there. Green island is as beautiful as ever. Great friendly staff, enjoyed good commentary by Ben on the glass bottom boat.
But the state of the facilities was a big disappointment... everything is now so old, rusty, mouldy or...dirty!!! Cairns is a big tourist destination, this doesn't project a good image to our visitors who come and spend a lot of money here.

The most wonderful experience from start to finish! The boat’s crew were professional and friendly. Downstairs, a lovely person serves complimentary tea, coffee and cookies. The trip to Green Island passed very quickly. When arriving at the island, follow the group to the dive shop to pick up the snorkeling equipment. We did this first, saw lovely fish and coral. Then we took the glass bottom boat tour, so incredible. Again, extremely knowledgeable crew! The hitchhiker fish, a remora, named Ray, attached to the glass and rode out with us . The crew offered many details about the coral and fish. The rest of the time was on your own, we walked through the rainforest. We also had lunch, walked on the beach, and swam in the pool. Truly beautiful experience at one of the most special places in the world.

It was a good trip. Weather is main reason for my average review. Couldn't really see any fish or coral from the glass bottom boat, due to colour of the water. The ride over and back was great with choppy seas, so good waves coming up the boat. Food area on the island absolutely stunk, due to birds. Has lockers for personal items. Great coffee.

Not good visibility, choppy ride to island, glass bottom boat was good for what we could see (Andy is great), saw 3 or 4 turtles snorkling which was amazing. Food is rather expensive on the island, bring cash, there is a card surcharge. Ride back was smoother, but ran a bit behind time.

Very worthwhile experience. Enjoyed the snorkelling and glass bottom boat. We rented beach chairs with umbrella and enjoyed a bit of the sun. The food court and pool area was awesome.

Very well organized tour, easy with a young kids. I appreciate that great island has an area with lifeguards. Fantastic snorkeling right off the beach.

Yesterday my daughter and I took a day trip to Green Island via catamaran. The crossing takes about 50 minutes and it was quite rough on the way over - make sure you take your motion sickness tablets if you're afflicted like we are! The staff on board were attentive and helpful. On the Island we headed for the beach and hired two sunlounges and an umbrella for the day ($45 for both). The water was beautiful and warm. We went on a glass bottom boat ride and were entertained by the fish we saw along the way - and our boat captain! We then tried out some snorkelling and were both amazed at how quickly we worked out what to do! It was great to see all the fish out on the reef and the huge schools of little fish right along the shoreline! We bought sandwiches for lunch from a cafe in the centre of the island - way overpriced; bring your own. There are more activities to do on the island but we opted to stay on the beach for the rest of the day. While waiting for our ride home we saw more fish from the pier, plus a couple of turtles, and a small shark! The trip back to Cairns was thankfully not as rough and we both thoroughly enjoyed our day.

The snorkelling area that was indicated to us, had hardly any coral and did not see the turtles while snorkelling, could see them from the jetty though. Lots of Fish were on the glass bottom boat, water was murky, colours of coral not clearly visible. Staff friendly. Food on Island good.

Excellent fun! Wish we had more time to experience all the activities that were offered. Love to go back when the young kids are older to experience the Great Barrier Reef outer banks.
