Eric and Sammy showed us around. It was a great experience to hear about the education of slum children, what is sold in the market, prices, and other things from the perspective of the people who live there. The best part was seeing the actual amount of ugali that Kenyans eat! I was shocked when I saw Eric and Sammy eating it. I was also surprised that they didn't realize how much they were eating. It was an unexpected cultural experience.

Wow - a morning I will never forget. Erick and Sammy were fantastic guides and spoke openly about the struggles and reality of living within Kibera Slum. They were kind, welcoming, and full of compassion for their community. Speaking with them and touring Kibera was a highlight of my trip, and a must-do for anyone visiting Nairobi. Erick, Sammy and the many other local people we met along our travels were inspiring: working so hard to make Kibera place. I so look forward to seeing them again one day.
