The communication regarding where to meet at the port was not good, I had to ring Viator ib the day to find out who we were looking for and where to meet. The day very hot and extremely busy- not the tour company fault obviously however we had 22 people in our group of various ages and health conditions and although the guide was extremely knowledgable and we liked her, she did have a habit of leaving people behind, I had to run to catch her up at one point as she had left half of her party at the bottom of a hill and there were so many other groups they would have had no chance of finding her. I think she did lose 2 people. Pompeii is definitely a must do tour but a small group or private tour would be my preference.

No communication about pickup. Guide talked to much unnecessary information outside the wall, as it was very hot standing in one position, and we couldn’t understand or hear her properly due to accent and headphones.

We were quite upset about this tour. It started out very rocky. They picked us up late, then drove to another location stating that they had to pick up
Some other people. They literally left us sitting in the bus for 45 minutes. They did not communicate what what’s happening and we saw them talking, laughing and dancing outside. Finally people became restless and asked about the hold up and they said they were waiting for a bus to transfer some people to. Not sure why. By now we are an hour into the tour and we hadn’t even left for Pompeii. I was contacting customer support and requested a partial refund at this time, but that has not happened. Once in Pompeii, it took some time to assemble and finally we toured Pompeii. The tour guide was nice, but she did not track her group well and it felt rushed. She walked ahead often and many of us were losing signal to our guided tour earphones. I missed a lot of info due to disconnect in signal because she walked ahead. I feel that the loss of an hour made her rush through the tour. We only saw one mummified body and that didn’t match the description of the tour. I still feel we are entitled to at least partial refund due to loss of time and information and rushing through the tour. It was the worst experience of all the tours we’ve done. If you cross reference the review I left for the Athens tour, you will see it’s night and day, because we loved that tour and the tour guide. I don’t recommend this Pompeii tour at all. Find another provider if possible. It was very chaotic and poorly run.

I have been to Pompeii 3 times, and this was the WORST (I brought my kids this time). It was overcrowded and our tour group was impossible to manage (more than 50 people); on a busy summer day you need to have smaller groups as you weave through the massive crowds. The tour guide moved way too fast it was difficult to follow him and he was always way ahead talking about features we couldn’t see because we were so far behind. He also did not carry a flag like most tour guides do, also making it difficult to track him. I asked him once to slow down and he became angry and told me no. He was so far ahead of most of the group that we could not hear him in the headphones most of the time.
He was so rushed through the ruins that we did not see many of the key features. And then they gave us 1 hour of “free time” OUTSIDE the park; however, we would have preferred to have the additional 1 hour INSIDE the park.

Extremely dissatisfied. Would not recommend.

They meet us right after the port exit but it took us a little time to find the lady, they definitely need a big sign, they are a lot of people confused and lost.
Our guide lady was very nice and informative, we enjoy it. Strongly recomended.

There was quite some confusion finding the starting point for the tour and consequently left the port area 1/2 hr late. However after that the tour went well and our guide was very knowledgeable. Would regard this as a tour for fit and able bodied persons, we are in our 70s and found it rather tiring.

I loved all the Viator tours we took, but not this one, and Pompeii was the site we most wanted to tour. The group was about 25 people and it was too large. Any group over 10 people in Pompeii is too large-the streets are narrow and crowded with tourists. The guide would lead, stop at a site or doorway and begin talking while those at the end of the group struggled to get to where she was. By the time they would get there, the guide had already moved on. Once we walked well ahead of the guide because we couldn't find her in the crowds. I appreciated the effort, but next time I'll go with a private guide or very small group.

Laura the guide was wonderful giving us little tidbits of the history you would not normally find out. Tour was reasonably priced
There was a lot of confusion with all of us not sure where we were supposed to meet. Someone finally called and Angela came to get us. Maybe be more specific exactly what spot is the meeting point.
