The Discover Scuba Diving experience is a non-certification program which allows guests to dive without being certified. The entire experience is held within the private beach of the Caribe Hilton Hotel in San Juan. Instructors will guide participants through a short class on the basics of scuba, a pool lesson and a fun dive. Everything is conducted within the hotel facilities and there is no need to travel to any other location. The hotel beach gives access to a shallow dive cove full of fish and much more.

Luis was our dive instructor, and he was awesome. He was funny, chill, patient, and knowledgeable. He worked hard to give us a great experience. We did our 10am dive right off the beach at the Hilton Caribe. I think our dive was at least one hour long, possibly more. We saw lots of small tropical fish, a lion fish, and a sea turtle. The Hilton Caribe in San Juan is certainly not the absolute best location in Puerto Rico for a dive, as I'm guessing you can see better corals and marine life elsewhere (e.g., Culebra). But for us, the convenience of the location and not having to get up at 6am was worth the sacrifice.

This was so much fun! An incredible show experience for all of us (3 newbies)! Michael, our instructor, was patient and knowledgeable! Showed us several different species of sea life and made us seriously consider getting fully certified to experience even more! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

If you are remotely interested in learning about Scuba Diving, this is a great beginners step. Our instructor Luis did an amazing job. His fun, calm, and knowledgeable demeanor made this brand new experience all the more enjoyable. My hubby and I will definently look into getting Scuba certifications for future use now that we are at ease.

Micheal our instructor was patient, explained everything very well, was very personable, and added humor to make everything fun. He was calm and professional in the water and helped my kids out with all their needs. I extremely recommend this excursion!

This was one of thee best experiences I never knew I needed to have. Our instructor Luis was thorough, thoughtful, more than helpful and committed to our scuba experience being safe and awesomely amazing. Seeing my 12 y/o literally swim with fish has been a highlight of our vacation. I have what I call at best 'basic life saving' swimming ability, lol. I was still able to learn the basics quickly and swim with the fish myself, and even touch the floor of the bay. The pictures do not do the experience justice. If there is one review you need to push you in the right direction, let this be the one!
Thanks again to Luis for helping to create a wonderful lasting memory.

We booked a shore dive for a family of 5. When we arrived at dive shop the staff was not ready for us to dive- did not have gear ready and female manager was rude. We were advised by the dive staff that the conditions were too rough to go beyond the cove area and that it was "up to us" if we chose to continue. I asked how the visibility was in the cove and was told "I dont know".
Since the conditions were not suitable, we should have been advised prior to departing hotel and taking taxi to the facility. We chose to go ahead and dive since we were already there (and wasted 2 hours to get there and to get checked in). We stopped diving after 15 minutes because the conditions were so bad that we could not see our hand in front of us. It was also unsafe -
very disappointed in professionalism of company and that we were not offered a refund or partial refund based on experience/conditions. We are certified divers and have never had such a horrendous experience. Since it was unsafe/bad conditions, the dive should have been cancelled first thing in the morning. unacceptable.

I have done Scuba a couple of times in the past but this was by far the most enjoyable. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. I forgot my sunblock and they were nice enough to let me use theirs.
The instructor is very patient and takes his time to make sure you understand everything. He actually taught me a couple of things that other instructors in the past did not mention and always made sure I was comfortable throughout the experience.
The dive itself is in somewhat shallow water by the beach of the hotel in which it's hosted so it's perfect for those looking to try it for the first time. As an added bonus, you get a wristband that allows you to use the facilities for the remainder of the day (I wish I had known this in advance!).
I can't say enough things about this activity and its staff. I am definitely booking it again the next time I am in Puerto Rico. Thank you so much guys!

I was NAUI certified when I was 12 and it’s been 25 years since I’ve been diving and I was slightly anxious. Michael the instructor was very knowledgeable and friendly. Made scuba very fun and no worries.
