The Izta Popo National Park has 2 volcanoes in the same place. We have designed hiking routes so you can enjoy the incredible views of the dormant volcano Iztaccíhuatl and the active volcano Popocatépetl. Our certified guide will explain the flora and fauna of the place. Live and breathe pure air at about 3,600 meters above sea level and 4,300 meters above sea level. It is an excellent place to share a wonderful experience alone, with friends or family. The tour includes round-trip transportation.
Choose between:
Level 1. The walk begins at about 3,600 meters above sea level and ends at 3,980 meters above sea level. The trail is marked sandy. The total is 8-9km of which 4.5 km are moderate uphill and the rest is downhill.
Level 2. The total is 14km of which 4km are uphill and the rest downhill with a few meters of moderate ascent. The trail is marked, mostly sandy with an outward view of the Izta and a return view of the Popo.
Level 3. It is a 7km walk at an altitude of between 3,990 and 4,500 meters above sea level where there will be sand and stone.

The hike was simply amazing. our guide was very knowledgeable and had a great exuberant energy. Him and the translator were very lovely and accommodating. We felt like we were on a hike with our friends, really. The hike was a bit shorter and less difficult than we expected so next time we would opt for the level three hike. We can’t wait to return to Mexico and we would definitely go with the same guide again if possible (Luis). The sights and views were exceptional and we highly recommend this tour/hike, you won’t be disappointed!

We were able to enjoy a beautiful hike in the national park. Luis always made sure that the pace matched the altitude. We learned a lot about the highest mountains in Mexico

We loved our experience. Amazing views throughout the hike. A bit of scrambling but nothing crazy.

Our guide was beyond patient with us and made our experience even better.
I would highly recommend you to be already acclimated or to be in 3000 meters or more for at LEAST 3 to 4 days before trying to reach 5000m. We are in a very good physical shapes and the lack of acclimation made is impossible for us to reach to summit (missed it by 200m/2hours).
STILL the experience was memorable and we would do it all over again any time.
