After a very rough ride to “Rotto” we arrived & located our tour after enquiring at the Information Centre. Wandered up to our tour with plenty of time.
Train ride was great with commentary from driver. Up to the top of the hill & transferred over to our tour guide .
We had Graham & he gave us fantastic information on everything to do with Battery Hill & even local flora & fauna.
Lots of steps, stairs & tunnels. So interesting !
After that we were met outside by our bus driver Kev with lunch of chicken salad wraps & a cookie & bottled water which was consumed on the bus due to the weather.
Then we had a tour with commentary around the whole island seeing lots of bays, the salt lakes, birds, lighthouses & Quokkas!
Had to get on & off the bus a few times & my only complaint about the whole day was that the step to get back onto the bus was a bit steep for me & would suggest a portable step.
Would definitely recommend this tour!

The Tour advert said nothing about you needing to get to Rottnest by ferry. We assumed the train took us and the bus took us around. So $253 extra added to the tour cost was a surprise. When we arrived at Rottnest we caught the train. What a dissappointment. The area along the trsck was filled with did used railway sleepers and othe junk. There was literally nothing nice to see. Ok, the whine continues. We were looking forward to the gun facility. Yes the advert for the tour mentions 60 steps, not nine stories worth of steps. There was nothing in the tour advert to say that most of the gun explore was three meters underground and possibly not suitable for people, like my wife, who suffer from Claustrophobia. We missed the major part of the gun explore, which annoyed us both. Lunch waslovely, as was the gunvtour guide, Cate and the bus driver Peter... both very knowledgable. The bus part of the tour did let us see a few really nice things, however, there was almost a zero opportunity to take photos as the bus just kept pushing on, albeit at 5kph. Yes, we saw Crokka's, but for less than 10 minutes as we had a ferry to catch.
Saddly, we both felt the Rottnest was a waste of time and money. Nothing on the island, beaches, bush etc jumped out at us... we could have stayed home and seen significantly lovelier scenery.
We really went to see Crokka's, but becausecthe bus tour ate into our time on the island we saw bugger all of what we paid to see.
If I had my time again, I would not have booked Rottness

The trip over was extremely rough. Many travellers were very sick. I was feeling ok but just. My son was really feeling terrible.
Given how travel sick we felt we thought it best not to sit on a tour bus and train with others. So we did not do the tour.
No refund available. Sad since we were trying to make sure we didn’t other people sick

Despite everyone believing you can cycle around the island, and of course you can, if you really want to. It much more comfortable to sit on an air-conditioned bus with a tour guide providing the intimidate knowledge that you would not otherwise receive. Also the island is not flat and has more hills than you are led to believe.

Although I had been to Fremantle before I had not manged to get to Rottnest. I am so glad we did. It was easy to run up on the day and book the ferry which runs regularly. We opted for an Island tour which was well worth it we then had enough time to get lunch before returning back om the ferry.

All the beaches on the island. You could have your own private beach, there are so many to choose from. The quokkas are so cute and lots of them.
