Our tour with Rodrigo (Rod) was one of our family's highlights on our trip to Spain. We appreciated his enthusiasm and endless knowledge throughout the entirety of the tour. We found it particularly timely that we had completed this tour the day before touring La Sagrada Familia as it gave us wonderful background information on Gaudi and his work. Even while in transit he was sharing stories and history relevant to Barcelona and our family's interests (that he had inquired about). Rod was outstanding! We highly recommend!

Amazing! We had a private tour, he took us to the Monastery and left us to explore for a few hours. The venicular was a fantastic ride giving us a terrific view of the Monastery. The lantern s in the monastery were beautiful!.

Guide arrived, pleasant, but there were definitely some communication problems. On the drive to Montserrat, she made little effort to provide more than a perfunctory description of our plan to go to Montserrat and what we could see there, then mostly fell silent or just played radio. On arrival she showed us around and gave set speeches, which were educational and fine. We were then on our own, to walk around or eat either at the awful cafeteria or have honey and cheeze from vendors for a while, or go up the funicular, but had to leave on a schedule to get to Colonia Guell, our 2nd stop. There we toured a pretty unfinished Gaudi church and an interesting museum set in a not so interesting suburban neighborhood that dates back to the workers paradise that Guell had set up as part of his textile factory. The museum started getting stuffy as the AC was not working, and the toilet was clogged, so I left the building to get air. The guide suggested we walk in the neighborhood, but I told her I just wanted to go to "the next stop" (I knew there was supposed to be a third attraction, just forgot what it was). She seemed surprized and said, "That is going back to Barcelona." I thought maybe I'd misread that there were 3 stops, or that perhaps the 3 stops were supposed to be Montserrat, the church, and the museum, so that meant that was the end of the tour. So she just drove us back to the hotel. Only later when looking at the tour description again did I realize that the third stop was actually supposed to be Park Guell, which she did not mention at all and totally skipped. I don't know if she got confused and forgot it was supposed to be on the tour we'd paid for, or thought that because I did not want to walk around the boring suburban town outside the church and musuem at Colonia and said I wanted to go to "the next stop" she assumed that meant hotel.

Another brilliant day! Anna was a fantastic guide. Again, I learned so much about the history of Barcelona and its surrounds. As I had already seen Parc Guell she happily varied the itinerary to suit. Highly recommended!

Our guide was Alejandro and was delightful. He picked us up at our hotel right on time even though our hotel was a little hard to find. We started off by heading up to Montserrat. It had just snowed the day before so there was still snow and ice on the ground at the top of the mountain. We got there early enough to beat much of the crowd which was great. Alejandro has very knowledgeable about the area and history which was great. We had time to explore and we chose to ride the funicular to the very top (a must! the view was incredible) and do a little hiking. Afterward we headed back to meet our guide and wished we had a little more time to hike. Next time we'll make it an all day trip. From there we headed to Colonial Guell and got to explore Gaudi's crypt and the small town. The small museum they had there was very informative as well and had a great example on display of how Gaudi designed his buildings. We ate lunch in Colonial Guell at a great little restaurant that Alejandro suggested. We spent some more time walking around the beautiful area and then headed to Park Guell. This was by far the most crowded by this time of day, but we did manage to walk around, explore and get some pictures in. We did enjoy the view and our guide once again gave us a great history lesson of the park and Gaudi and took some pictures of us as well! One of the best private tours we took while in Barcelona. A must do.

Tour was a disappointment. Tourguide complained about picking us up so early (9am), then had to stop by her office to pick up money for tour. Barely spoke on the drive to and from Montserrat. Car was tiny, my husband couldn't sit up straight without hitting his head. She argued over what to see.

Our tour guide, Andrew, was excellent and even bought us Cava and cold drinks. A much more relaxed day than standard tours. We stopped at an authentic Catelonian restaurant for lunch.

Great guide. The Gaudi portion of this trip was canceled due to a scheduled event so we went Cava tasting and it was great. The winery had the largest wine cellar in the world and an extremely interesting tour was given by our very dynamic guide. Montserrat was gorgeous and everything I ever imagined it to be. Since it was winter we were able to see and do everything we wanted. Unfortunately the cable car and cog wheel trains were being repaired that day, so we were unable to go to the top of the mountain. However, were still able to do a considerable amount of hiking with sweeping views; had ample time to listen to the choir; no line to see the Black Madonna; and also bought some great cheese on the way back. Excellent. My favorite tour of all.
