Of course anyone can go on a bus with a bunch of other guests more and of course anyone could rent a car and drive to the Douro. The thing is it wouldn't be the same as having all the knowledge of your local expert tour guide for culture and wine, in a personal experience. Passing incredible landscapes on the way to the Douro Valley wine region, you will be entertained with amazing details about the area, the culture and of course, Port and Douro wines.
It's not just the landscape. It's what's behind the stage, the details, the facts, the people, and all this with fun, friendship and a lot of humour in between.
You can only get it while doing it.

Comfortable transport, knowledgeable staff, great pace and an overall great day. Lunch and snacks were really great!

We cannot recommend Hugo’s tour enough!!! It was exceptionally wonderful!!
We are wine lovers and visit wineries often, so looked for a boutique experience with an elevated level of knowledge and selection of wineries.
We were 6 in the group and visited family oriented small / medium size wineries. Hugo was a well of knowledge on both the region and wine. Everything was wonderfully organized, beautiful and tasty.
All in all - no doubt we made the right choice in the vast options available.

My friend and I had a wonderful experience! The drive out to the valley was comfortable and Hugo shared some great information along the way. The scenery was gorgeous and the wines we tasted were great. The lunch was delicious and the location was beautiful :-)

My husband and I had the most amazing time on our tour. It was truly the highlight of our trip in Portugal! We’re wine lovers visiting from California and were looking forward to tasting authentic port! Hugo was so kind and had a WEALTH of knowledge about everything regarding port wine, the Douro valley, how it’s produced, all while keeping us entertained with fun history facts. Hugo made us feel so comfortable and was able to break the ice amongst our now new friends who were on the tour with us. We were a small group of 7 and went to a beautiful winery off the beaten path avoiding all the tour buses and crowds. We had a relaxing boat ride on the river and got to enjoy more Port and after went to another winery where we had an authentic Portuguese meal with lots of appetizers and ENDLESS amounts of wine followed by desert and more port. The wine was flowing all day as well as the good vibes, highly highly recommend!!!

The views from the winery were amazing. The food at lunch was delicious. Marcelo did a phenomenal job guiding and hosting us.

Sarah was our tour guide and he was nothing but amazing! I recommend this tour 100%! She was an amazing driver who picked us up from central Porto and took us to a boat ride down the Douro Valley and 2 wineries (of which one served lunch)! Every time I looked at my glasses at lunch it was topped up! She also stopped at an amazing look out point for views and pictures! Thank you thank you so so much Sarah!!
