This was my second time doing a trek with Alpaca Expeditions but this time I did the 2 day/1 night with camping and it was an incredible experience!! I chose Alpaca to go back to because of my last experience and this time did not disappoint! Our guide Ronaldino was amazing - very knowledgeable, a great photographer, and very attentive to us. At one point, I had a headache from the altitude and he gave me some natural remedies to help. He did a great job taking care of us and making sure we had a fun time. I highly recommend doing a trek with Alpaca Expeditions and make sure you ask for Ronaldino ;)

The trip was unforgettable! We had Ronal as our guide, who is super nice and knowledgeable! He offered a lot of help and was very considerate when my knees hurt after the bike. I’m also learning Spanish and he taught us many useful expressions! Had so much fun! It’s very special that we also met the chef who prepared all the delicious meals and porters who carried all our stuff.

We had a great time and smooth logistics throughout our experience with Alpaca. This was our third trip with them, having collectively done the 4d Inca trail and 1d sacred valley tour on previous trips.
Though we considered just a quick train to Macchu Picchu, adding the hiking component gave us the reward of the Inca trail’s beautiful fourth day views, a delicious meal at a scenic resting spot, and great photos from the sun gate.
It was also a much more relaxing way to see Macchu Picchu given we were well rested and fed in aguas calientes before the second day, when we entered the sacred site.
Our guide Sol was very kind, fluent English for us tourists, communicative over WhatsApp to thoughtfully coordinate leading up to the trip, a nature and animal lover, and shared lots of stories about Incan history. Would highly recommend. She also greatly enjoys questions to share more local knowledge.

The trip was super well organized - everything was planned from pick up at the hotel to drop off the next day.
The food exceeded expectations by far - some of the best food i have had in Peru, was in a tent on the inca trail made on a campfire - we can definitely recommendt his trip.
And the guide Soledad was awesome.

Outstanding organization from beginning to end. Our tour guide Nancy was knowledgeable, kind, ans fun and made our experience memorable. Every step of the demanding yet manageable hike was rewarded with breathtaking views. We had plenty of water breaks and a satisfying lunch. This experience will forever be engraved in our hearts! Thanks AE & Nancy for making this experience a true pleasure.

The trail is moderately challenging but well worth it. This is a great way to hike to Machu Picchu without the exertion of a 4 day trip. Our guides were wonderful! I couldn’t recommend Alpaca more. Thank you Lucio!

Overall the trip was amazing. The views were spectacular. The first 3 hours were very difficult for me with the altitude and all the stairs but Ingrid, one of our guides, was so kind and caring. She took my pack so I could continue the hike, stayed back with me, was very supportive, and continuously checked on my well-being. The next 3 hours of the hike was much more doable and I enjoyed it a lot. The kitchen made more than enough food for all of us and were very good with listening to dietary restrictions. Lucio, our other guide was very knowledable about the ruins. The entire trip was very well organized and the porters were very appreciated.

This hike was phenomenal!! With some once in a lifetime views and an interesting history, it made for the best hike I've been on. This company was exceptional, the guide was fluent in English and very informative, the porters were amazing, and the food was top notch
