Try the traditional Dresden Christmas Stollen or warm up with mulled wine. Get into the Christmas spirit with a visit to one of Europe's most famous Christmas markets in Dresden, which has a tradition dating back to 1434.
Dresden is one of the most charming and attractive cities on the Elbe.
Be enchanted by them during a tour of the historic center, after which we will immerse ourselves in the whirlwind of the unique atmosphere of the Christmas markets.

Itinerary:

- Hotel pick-up at 8:00 am

- We will park the car at the parking lot Centrum-Galerie (Prager Straße)

- We start with a historic center tour

- After the sightseeing tour, we will visit Dresden Medieval Christmas Market - Stallhof and the oldest Christmas market in Germany the Altmarkt Christmas Market

- When we're all in the Christmas spirit it's time to head back to the car

- Hotel drop-off approx. 5:30 - 6 pm

The Semper Opera is the opera house of the Saxon State Opera. The architect Gottfried Semper first built a theater on this site, but it fell to ashes in 1869. Semper then designed an opera house in its place. The Semper Opera House has a long history of world premieres, including major works by Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss.

The Zwinger is a complex of Baroque buildings with a garden in the Old Town of Saxon Dresden. It is one of the most significant construction works from the Baroque period in Germany. Next to the Frauenkirche, the Zwinger is the city's most famous landmark. Originally, it was supposed to be the courtyard of a magnificent castle, but it was never built.

Dresden Castle or Royal Palace is one of the oldest buildings in Dresden, Germany. For almost 400 years, it was the residence of the electors and kings of Saxony from the Albertine House of Wettin as well as the Kings of Poland. It is known for the different architectural styles employed, from Baroque to Neo-renaissance.

Hofkirche is a baroque Catholic church. It is the largest temple building in the state of Saxony. It has been the cathedral of the Dresden-Meißen diocese since 1980.

The Augustus Bridge is a monument that co-created the history of this significant Saxon city. The stone bridge was built around 1287, but it probably existed as a wooden one before that. In the Middle Ages, it was the longest stone bridge in Germany and was 521 meters at the time (according to other sources, it was even 40 m more).

The terrace, nicknamed the "Balcony of Europe", stretches high above the banks of the Elbe. Originally, it was part of the Dresden fortifications, which was bought in 1739 by Count Heinrich von Brühl.

The Albertinum is a modern art museum. The sandstone-clad Renaissance Revival building is located on Brühl's Terrace in the historic center of Dresden. It is named after King Albert of Saxony.
8.
A symbol of the Saxon metropolis and one of the most important Baroque buildings in Germany. The dome of the church is one of the largest north of the Alps. You can optionally ascend to the viewing platform of the dome. A height of 67 meters offers a stunning view across the city of Dresden and its surroundings. (Adults: 10 euros)

Dresden’s Striezelmarkt is considered to be the oldest Christmas market in Germany. But it’s not just its record age that attracts visitors; it also boasts other outstanding features, such as the world’s tallest, 14.61-meter-high Ore Mountain step pyramid, what is likely to be the world’s largest walk-in candle arch, and a daily program of cultural Christmas events for young and old.

One of the best Christmas Markets in Europe . Great choice of food, souvenirs, drinks. Very authentic. Set at the plaza in front of the historic Church and the old town. Highly recommend even as a day trip.

Ondrej was our guide and everything was exceptional. All other tours are not as perfect as this one. Everything ran on time and we were very well looked after. Ondrej was very knowledgeable and accommodating to all of our needs. The markets were a must-see experience that were magical. Ondrej also runs additional tours upon request and was only too happy to help us with our questions and needs. He made our holiday very special. Thank you, Ondrej.

We had a fantastic day with Ondrej driving us to Dresden and then guiding us through several places of interest. The beautiful Frauenkirche and timeline made of ceramic tiles are must sees.

The Dresden Markets are not to be missed….absolutely beautiful.

If you are fortunate to have Ondrej as a guide, you will find him friendly and very knowledgeable. We learned so much about the history of Dresden but also the traditions and customs of Czech people. A truly wonderful day!

We totally recommend taking this tour from Prague to Dresden. The guide Ondrej was not only an excellent driver, but also very knowledgeable about history and showed us many interesting sights along the way. We learned so much about Prague culture and customs by talking with Ondrej on the drive. The conversation was so interesting, the time passed in a flash!

On reaching Dresden, Ondrej gave us a walking tour and then we were free to explore Dresden at our leisure. It was an absolute treat to visit the beautiful Christmas Markets in Dresden which are quite different to those we have seen in Prague. We visited 4 different Christmas Markets, each with a slightly different theme. The stalls were beautifully presented and sold high quality goods. Our favourite was Striezelmarkt which was apparently the first Christmas Market in Europe.

We enjoyed seeing the countryside surrounding Prague, and escaping the crowds. It was a privilege to spend the day with local guide Ondrej.

My family and I enjoyed the trip so much, our guide was wonderful and had lots of knowledge about the buildings and monuments which we visited on the tour. He was very friendly and helpful. We had lots of time to explore and experience the beautiful Christmas market and the surrounding buildings. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone who loves Christmas and history.

A really good tour, Ondrej is a good guide, friendly and helpful. Dresden is an interesting city and the Christmas markets are wonderful. The drive was a pleasant one and the vehicle comfortable. I was travelling solo, but I enjoyed the company of my fellow travellers and Ondrej. All in all, a good day out.

We truly enjoyed this tour! This is a must do if you are in Prague. Dresden is truly beautiful and the Christmas Markets were just magical! Our tour guide Ondrej was excellent! Not only was he very knowledgeable and nice, but he was also flexible and gave us enough time to truly see everything and enjoy.

We had such a good time on this trip and Ondrej was the perfect guide! Dresden was absolutely stunning with a really interesting history. The tour was great and I formative and then we loved browsing the Christmas markets, which were striking!
