Very glad I chose this trip.
I was travelling alone and joined the boat with a small group and a couple, I think 8 of us in total.
Pedro and Sylvia were fabulous hosts - offered lots of information without being intrusive.
The tour came with two drinks (port cocktails, vinho verde or non-alcoholic options) and a bowl of snacks/tortilla chips.
It took about an hour to go up the river and another hour back. The views were gorgeous.
Big cushions were provided for those sitting on the front of the boat, and blankets were also provided as the return trip was quite windy!
We were able to move around the boat to sit up top if we wanted to.

The boat ride was scenic and relaxing. It was a small group so it made the trip even more enjoyable.

Excellent trip on a private boat. There were 3 of us and we were with several others from around the world. The guide and captain were very welcoming, friendly and informative. It was not supposed to rain the day of our trip but it did unexpectedly. It was still a great time - the boat offered plenty of cover - and we got to see the city from the water. Highly recommend.

What a lovely tour with amazing guides. A must do for your trip! Pedro and Sylvia were great local guides, with Sylvia providing very detailed info about Porto and Gaia. She was warm, welcoming, very well spoken in English and so genuine in wanting to provide an amazing experience for us with Pedro. It truly was. Great drinks and snacks, we had an excellent experience. I booked this for family and each person asked how I came to find this tour as they were so pleasntly surprised and grateful for how wonderful it was just a half hour into it! It will be a treasured memory of our trip!! Thank you so much to Sylvia and Pedro for providing us such a great tour!

Pedro, skipper of the boat, and Sylvia, hostess and narrator, are delightful, hospitable people and give a very enjoyable two hour cruise on the beautiful Duoro River as it passes through Porto and Gaia. Sylvia is a goldmine of information about the area and Pedro is a very skilful pilot of the cosy boat. Note that the tour they offer is both more intimate and longer than the big tour boats you’ll see on the river. This means extra value for money, on top of a guaranteed good time. Sylvia also pours some excellent port, a ruby followed by a reserva.
