Snorkeling with the whale shark is a wonderful experience that we have very close to in the City of La Paz. Our boat is very comfortable and perfectly equipped for this activity.

We had a great time on this tour with our three young kids. Davide was a great guide and very well informed. There weren’t many whale sharks out but Davide was able to take us out to several spots til we finally found one and it was a magical experience. We got to dive several times until everyone was happy. We got some great footage.

We booked this when we were already in La Paz. We had thought the whale shark season would be over, but it is still going. Last year the season ended in February because the water got so cold.
Guide David and Captain P were awesome. Learned a ton about these animals. They were very supportive of our three young kids getting in and swimming. It was wild to be that close to something so large. This is a "must do". The water was cool but not cold. Even so, bring some warm layers for the boat ride back.
Heads up: When we arrived at the dock, they had wetsuits available to rent. We could not do this ahead of time. But they only accepted cash. We had not anticipated this and ended up getting wet suits for the kids with the cash we had brought to tip our guides. I hope in the future Alonso tours either allows rentals in advance or lets clients know that they will need cash to rent on the dock. That was the only frustration of the day.

Family of 5 went with Alonso on a shaded boat with 7 other people. The whole experience was very profesional and fun. Alonso staff was very communicative in advance and day of the process was seamless for our family with 3 kids under 10 to get wetsuits and get into boat. The boat voyage was easy and took us about 20 min to find a whaleshark and we got to swim alongside it 3 times. Alonso staff very knowledgeable and great in the water with our kids. Even our 6 year old went in and saw the whaleshark. Would highly recommend them for families.

It was an excellent tour to swim with the whale sharks! The captain and guides were amazing! Had 3 jumps and were able to be very close to these amazing creatures.

Dante and Juan were excellent! Dante was very personable and spoke English perfectly. We saw numerous large whale sharks. We were very close and had several opportunities to get back in the water in between respite breaks. Boat was nice and offered cover and storage to keep personal items dry. My whole family enjoyed it a great deal and group size was small.

The trip was really awsome. They were ready and prepared on time. We rented wet suits that were totally NEW. The motor boat was very comfortable and big.
They are really experienced. We spoted several whale sharks until they found ine that was swimming really slow wich we can follow and swim with for a long time.
I found that they make a great experience for everyone: for kids swimming with them to catch up the group and for the more adventorous letting them swim fast with the shark but always keeping it safe.
We were even able to swim with two sharks at the same time!!!

Dante, Gustavo and Angel were the best crew ever!!!

We went punctually at 10 am to the dock where they told us we should be. They attended to us quickly and gave us the wet suits. In a boat of 20 people we approached the whale shark area. They divided us into teams of 5 and the guide was always taking care of the animals and the tourists. It is very worth it. Angel, Gustavo and Dante attended to us.

We loved this opportunity to swim alongside a whale shark. Michael the guide who swam with us was amazing at making sure we had the best view - including helping my husband who is disabled. Thankyou Michael - it was truly amazing.

Alonso Tours provided a wonderful experience and the experience of a lifetime swimming with whale sharks in La Paz. Our guide, David, was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable about the area, the animals, and the conservation efforts of the Mexican government to protect these awesome giants. He explained everything in English and Spanish and was very caring to ensure everyone followed the rules and had a great time. It was a fabulous tour (the captain of the boat was also terrific) and I highly recommend.
